Office Action

§102
This Office Action is in response to the papers filed on November 1, 2023. Claims 1-3, 6, 7 and 9 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 102(a)(1) as being anticipated by Chang (United States Patent 7,075,227). As to independent claim 1, Chang discloses a transparent display panel (see the entire patent, including the Fig. 2 disclosure), comprising a first electrode 202, a second electrode 208/206 (as per this application’s Fig. 4 embodiment and dependent claim 6), and a light-emitting layer 204 disposed between the first electrode and the second electrode; wherein the first electrode 202 is disposed on a light-emitting surface of the light-emitting layer, the second electrode 208/206 is disposed on one side of the light-emitting layer away from the light-emitting surface, and the second electrode 208/206 is an electrochromic electrode (column 6, lines 7-8). As to dependent claim 2, an electrode material of Chang’s second electrode 208/206 comprises an electrochromic material (column 6, lines 7-8). As to dependent claim 3, Chang’s electrochromic material comprises at least one of TiO, VO2, CrO2, TrO2, MO2, V2O5, NiO2, or conductive polyacetylene (column 6, lines 50-58). As to dependent claim 6, Chang’s second electrode 208/206 comprises an electrode layer 206 and an electrochromic layer 208 disposed on one side surface of the electrode layer facing the light-emitting layer 204. As to dependent claim 7, a material of Chang electrochromic layer 208 comprises at least one of TiO, VO2, CrO2, TrO2, MO2, V2O5, NiO2, conductive polyacetylene, or viologen compounds (column 6, lines 50-58). As to dependent claim 9, a material of Chang’s electrode layer 206 comprises a metal electrode material (column 6, lines 15-18). Claims 4, 5, 8 and 10-18 are objected to as being dependent upon a rejected base claim, but would be allowable if rewritten in independent form including all of the limitations of the independent claim and any intervening claims. Registered practitioners can telephone the examiner at (571) 272-1843. Any voicemail message left for the examiner should include the registration number of the registered practitioner calling. The examiner’s supervisor is Wael Fahmy, whose telephone number is (571) 272-1705. /MARK V PRENTY/Primary Examiner, Art Unit 2814
