Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 102 07-07-aia AIA 07-07 The following is a quotation of the appropriate paragraphs of 35 U.S.C. 102 that form the basis for the rejections under this section made in this Office action: A person shall be entitled to a patent unless – 07-08-aia AIA (a)(1) the claimed invention was patented, described in a printed publication, or in public use, on sale, or otherwise available to the public before the effective filing date of the claimed invention. 07-15 AIA Claim (s) 9-13 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 102( a)(1 ) as being anticipated by Taylor-Brown (US4060648A) . Regarding Claim 9-11 and 13, Taylor-Brown teaches a surface coating process [abstract]. Below is provided Fig. 1 and 2 of Taylor-Brown. PNG media_image1.png 803 426 media_image1.png Greyscale Taylor-Brown teaches that the system comprises: A rigid substrate (Col. 4, Lines 36-48) which may be used in place of the plastic web used as the deposition substrate corresponding to #19 of Fig. 1 and 2, as per Claim 10 ; and, A roller (#1, Fig. 2) coated with a dielectric material (#2, Fig. 2) which serves as a discharge electrode that is coupled to an AC power source (Col. 3, 41-68 and Col. 4, Lines 1-14); and, A hopper (#7, Fig. 1 & 2), which is understood to be a source, containing electrically chargeable particles (#8, Fig. 1 & 2), understood to be a printing material, where the hopper is adjacent to the substrate as seen in Fig. 1 and 2. It is understood that the hopper provides a renewed supply of printing material, as per Claim 13 ; and, A pair of nip rollers (#18, Fig. 2; and Col. 3, Lines 26-30) which function as a conveyor belt for the substrate (#19), where it is understood the pair of nip rollers comprise one or more rollers, as per Claim 11 . Regarding Claim 12, Taylor-Brown teaches that it is possible to use a second electrode in order to deposit material on both sides of a substrate (Col. 4, Lines 59-68 and Col. 5, Lines 1-10).
