0DETAILED ACTION
This Office Action is in response to the application 18/087674 filed on Dember 12 2022.
In the event the determination of the status of the application as subject to AIA 35 U.S.C. 102 and 103 (or as subject to pre-AIA 35 U.S.C. 102 and 103) is incorrect, any correction of the statutory basis for the rejection will not be considered a new ground of rejection if the prior art relied upon, and the rationale supporting the rejection, would be the same under either status.
Claims 1-20 are pending and herein considered.
Notice of Pre-AIA or AIA Status
The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA .
Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 102
(a)(1) the claimed invention was patented, described in a printed publication, or in public use, on sale, or otherwise available to the public before the effective filing date of the claimed invention.
(a)(2) the claimed invention was described in a patent issued under section 151, or in an application for patent published or deemed published under section 122(b), in which the patent or application, as the case may be, names another inventor and was effectively filed before the effective filing date of the claimed invention.
Claim(s) 1,8 and 15 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 102 a(1)/a(2)as being anticipated by Bamerjee et al. (Barmerjee) U.S pub, Number 2024/0211213
Regarding claim 1; Finlay discloses a computer-implemented method comprising:
transmitting, by a computer system and to a plurality of entropy sources, a request to receive entropy par [[ 0029 ]] At 510FIG. 5 providing entropy to a virtual machine. The process 500 can be implemented by the computer system 100, specifically by the daemon component 104. At 502, the computer system 100 transmits a request to multiple entropy sources to receive entropy from the sources. At least one of the multiple sources is an external source that is external and operatively connected to the computer system 100. ,
wherein at least one of the plurality of entropy sources is an external source that is external and operatively connected to the computer system;
receiving, by the computer system, entropy from the external source; storing, by the computer system, the entropy received from the external source in an entropy storage medium;
receiving, by the computer system and from a client computer system, a request for entropy to be used by the client computer system to implement a random number generation algorithm; par [[ 0029 ]]At 510 At 504, the computer system 100 receives entropy from the external source. At 506, the computer system 100 stores the entropy received from the external source in an entropy storage medium par [[ 0029 ]]At 510 At 508, the computer system receives a request from a client computer system (e.g., a virtual machine 102a) for entropy to be used by the virtual machine 102a to implement a random number generation algorithm par [[ 0029 ]]At 510At 510, in response to receiving the request from the virtual machine 102a, the computer system 100 provides a portion of the stored entropy. The portion of the stored entropy which the computer system 100 provides includes the entropy received from the external source.and in response to receiving the request, providing, by the computer system, a portion of the stored entropy, wherein the portion of the stored entropy provided in response to receiving the request includes the entropy received from the external source.
in response to receiving the request, providing, by the computer system, a portion of the stored entropy, wherein the portion of the stored entropy provided in response to receiving the request includes the entropy received from the external source par [[ 0029 ]]At 510]] At 508, the computer system receives a request from a client computer system (e.g., a virtual machine 102a) for entropy to be used by the virtual machine 102a to implement a random number generation algorithm. At 510, in response to receiving the request from the virtual machine 102a, the computer system 100 provides a portion of the stored entropy. The portion of the stored entropy which the computer system 100 provides includes the entropy received from the external source par [[ 0029 ]]At 510, in response to receiving the request from the virtual machine 102a, the computer system 100 provides a portion of the stored entropy. The portion of the stored entropy which the computer system 100 provides includes the entropy received from the external source.
Allowable Subject Matter
Claim 2-7, 8-14 and 15-20 objected to as being dependent upon a rejected base claim, but would be allowable if rewritten in independent form including all of the limitations of the base claim and any intervening claims.
