DETAILED ACTION The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA . Election/Restrictions Applicant’s election without traverse of species c (a bismaleimide according to formula (A) wherein L is a group of formula 3a: PNG media_image1.png 141 324 media_image1.png Greyscale PNG media_image2.png 129 513 media_image2.png Greyscale in the reply filed on 8/10/2025 is acknowledged. All claims read on the elected species. Therefore, no claims are withdrawn. Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 102 The following is a quotation of the appropriate paragraphs of 35 U.S.C. 102 that form the basis for the rejections under this section made in this Office action: A person shall be entitled to a patent unless – (a)(1) the claimed invention was patented, described in a printed publication, or in public use, on sale, or otherwise available to the public before the effective filing date of the claimed invention. Claim(s) 1-9 is/are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 102(a)(1) as being anticipated by Kuo (US 2021/0261733). Kuo discloses the following bismaleimide compound [0092]: PNG media_image3.png 114 534 media_image3.png Greyscale The compound above has a structure according to instant formula (A) wherein L is a structure according to instant formula (3a): PNG media_image4.png 243 415 media_image4.png Greyscale Like the presently elected species, the bismaleimide resin disclosed by Kuo has a molar ratio of fluorine-based diamine unit to maleic anhydride units of 1:2, which meets instant claim 2, the fluorine-based diamine structure from which the bismaleimide is derived is symmetric, which meets instant claims 4 and 7, and the bismaleimide has a molecular weight of 665 g/mol, which is within the range recited in claims 3 and 9.
