Notice of Pre-AIA or AIA Status
The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA .
DETAILED ACTION
1. This action is in response to the application filed 8/31/2023.
2. Claims 1-20 have been examined and are pending in the application.
Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 112
The following is a quotation of the second paragraph of 35 U.S.C. 112:
The specification shall conclude with one or more claims particularly pointing out and distinctly claiming the subject matter which the applicant regards as his invention.
3. Claims 1-20 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 112, second paragraph, as being indefinite for failing to particularly point out and distinctly claim the subject matter which applicant regards as the invention.
A. The following terms lack antecedent basis:
(i) the specific gateway (lines 6-7 of claim 1, lines 9-10 of claim 16, lines 6-7 of claim 20). Correction is required.
(ii) the user device (line 9 of claim 14, line 9 of claim 18). Correction is required.
(iii) the API Forge Accelerator (line 5 of claim 20). Correction is required.
B. The claim language in the following claims is not clearly understood: (i) As to claim 1, it is unclear whether “specification information” (lines 9-10) refers to “specification information” (line 8). Correction is required.
(ii) As to claim 16, it is unclear whether “specification information” (line 12) refers to “specification information” (line 11). Correction is required.
(iii) As to claim 20, it is unclear whether “specification information” (line 9) refers to “specification information” (lines 7-8). Correction is required.
Allowable Subject Matter
4. Claims 1-20 would be allowable if rewritten or amended to overcome the rejections set forth in this office action.
Reasons for Allowance
5. The following is the examiner’s statement of reasons for allowance:
The prior arts do not teach or render obvious the invention as recited in the independent claims. More specifically, the prior arts do not teach the limitations of:
…a request indicates a selection of the first gateway among a plurality of gateways integrated with the API Forge Accelerator…;
generating, by the API Forge Accelerator… a specification template corresponding to the specific gateway …indicates specification information that is used for the API generation;
obtaining, by the API Forge Accelerator, based on the specification template, specification information from user input and API tools…
…, when taken in the context of the claim as a whole.
Conclusion
The prior art made of record and not relied upon is considered pertinent to applicant's disclosure.
U.S Patent No. 9,442,700 discloses an API tool that enables easy exploration of services that expose APIs, creation and documentation of examples, use cases and workflows, and publishing and collaboration of APIs.
U.S Publication No. 2022/0206771 discloses automating the lifecycle of API Management deployment via a templated approach.
