Office Action

§102
CTNF 18/290,434 CTNF 88964 Notice of Pre-AIA or AIA Status 07-03-aia AIA 15-10-aia The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA. Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 102 07-07-aia AIA 07-07 The following is a quotation of the appropriate paragraphs of 35 U.S.C. 102 that form the basis for the rejections under this section made in this Office action: A person shall be entitled to a patent unless – 07-08-aia AIA (a)(1) the claimed invention was patented, described in a printed publication, or in public use, on sale, or otherwise available to the public before the effective filing date of the claimed invention. 07-15-aia AIA Claim(s) 22-27 is/are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 102 (a)(1) as being anticipated by Lee US 2021/0068211 . Regarding claim 22 A cooking appliance doubling as a hood, comprising: A main body (Fig. 1) provided with a cavity (114) which has a cooking compartment therein (Fig. 2) and a front surface of which is open (opening from door to cavity when door is open) and an air flow path (see arrows following exhaust 246) into which contaminated air (246) including contaminants generated in a downward direction is suctioned and flows (Fig. 6) and which is formed around the cavity (Fig. 6) and a door (150) disposed swivably on the front surface of the main body (¶ [0031]), wherein the door is provided with a blower module (216) configured to draw external air into the door from above (Fig. 6 see flow arrows). Regarding claim 23 wherein the contaminated air is suctioned into a lower surface of the main body, and the external air is suctioned into an upper surface of the door (Fig. 6 see flow arrows). Regarding claim 24 a main frame shaped into a box (FIG. 6, door frame shape is a rectangular box comprising 210, front surface of door and bottom surface of door) a rear surface (210 which is “rear of door”) of which is open (open at top); and a rear frame (back surface of door) which is coupled to the open rear surface of the main frame and has a planar shape (Fig. 6), wherein the blower module is accommodated between the main frame and the rear frame, and fixed to the rear frame (Fig. 6). Regarding claim 25 the blower module, comprising a suction duct (duct around blower and extending to bottom of door) provided with at least one of inlets into which the external air is drawn (see flow arrows), and an air flow path in which the external air flows therein (see flow arrows around door); and at least one of air blowing fans supported in the suction duct (see impeller shown in duct in Fig. 6), and configured to suction the external air and generate an air flow of the external air, wherein the suction duct is fixed to a front surface of the rear frame (fig. 6). Regarding claim 26 wherein the door further comprises a shielding plate (240) fixed to the rear frame and assembled to an open front surface of the cavity (Fig. 6), the suction duct covers a front surface of the shielding plate at least partially (fig. 6 see flow arrows), and the shielding plate is at least partially exposed to external air flowing in the air flow path (Fig. 6 see flow arrows). Regarding claim 27 wherein the suction duct is provided with at least one of outlets (see bottom outlets) through which external air drawn through the inlet is discharged, and at least one of the outlets is open toward a front surface of the main frame (see Fig. 6 as interpreted front surface of the door is part of the main frame). Allowable Subject Matter Claims 28-41 are objected to as being dependent upon a rejected base claim, but would be allowable if rewritten in independent form including all of the limitations of the base claim and any intervening claims. The prior art teaches a fan blower in the door as discussed, but does not teach a camera mounted to the specific claimed portion of the door. While cameras in microwaves are not new Applicant claims a synergistic effect from having the camera in the particular claimed location.
