Notice of Pre-AIA or AIA Status
The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA .
Election/Restrictions
Applicant’s election of Group II, claims 6-9 in the reply filed on 06/29/2026 is acknowledged. Because applicant did not distinctly and specifically point out the supposed errors in the restriction requirement, the election has been treated as an election without traverse (MPEP § 818.01(a)).
Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 112
The following is a quotation of 35 U.S.C. 112(b):
(b) CONCLUSION.—The specification shall conclude with one or more claims particularly pointing out and distinctly claiming the subject matter which the inventor or a joint inventor regards as the invention.
The following is a quotation of 35 U.S.C. 112 (pre-AIA ), second paragraph:
The specification shall conclude with one or more claims particularly pointing out and distinctly claiming the subject matter which the applicant regards as his invention.
Claims 6-9 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 112(b) or 35 U.S.C. 112 (pre-AIA ), second paragraph, as being indefinite for failing to particularly point out and distinctly claim the subject matter which the inventor or a joint inventor (or for applications subject to pre-AIA 35 U.S.C. 112, the applicant), regards as the invention.
Claim 6 recites the limitation "the glass" in line 8. There is insufficient antecedent basis for this limitation in the claim.
Regarding claim 6, the “melt the glass” in line 8 means “melt the mixture”?
Regarding claim 6, the “the melted glass” in line 9 means “the melted mixture” ?
Regarding claim 9. It is not clear that “the proportion of SnO2 in the raw materials is 0.05%” is based on what.
Prior art considered
US20220081346A1 discloses a glass manufacturing method comprising: melting batch materials in a melting vessel to produce a molten glass. The articles produced according to the methods disclosed comprise from about 50 mol % to about 90 mol % SiO2; from 0 mol % to about 20 mol % Al2O3; from 0 mol % to about 20 mol % B2O3; from 0 mol % to about 25 mol % RxO; and from 0 ppm to about 20 ppm CrO3; wherein R is chosen from one or more of Li, Na, K, Rb, and Cs and x is 2, or R is chosen from one or more of Zn, Mg, Ca, Sr, and Ba and x is 1. See [0068]. The prior art does not disclose nor render obvious all the cumulative limitations of claim 6 such as the 7-11%; SrO: 0.27-3.26%; BaO: 7.20-10.12%; CaO: 0.22-1.22%; MgO: 0-1.05%; MgO+CaO+SrO+BaO< 13%; the liquidus viscosity of the electronic glass is greater than 200,000 poise.
