Office Action

§112
DETAILED ACTION Notice of Pre-AIA or AIA Status The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA . This is a response to the amendment filed 8/4/2026. Claims 1-19 are pending and are under examination. Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 112 The following is a quotation of 35 U.S.C. 112(b): (b) CONCLUSION.—The specification shall conclude with one or more claims particularly pointing out and distinctly claiming the subject matter which the inventor or a joint inventor regards as the invention. The following is a quotation of 35 U.S.C. 112 (pre-AIA ), second paragraph: The specification shall conclude with one or more claims particularly pointing out and distinctly claiming the subject matter which the applicant regards as his invention. Claims 2, 3, 5, 6, 8-14 and 17-19 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 112(b) or 35 U.S.C. 112 (pre-AIA ), second paragraph, as being indefinite for failing to particularly point out and distinctly claim the subject matter which the inventor or a joint inventor (or for applications subject to pre-AIA 35 U.S.C. 112, the applicant), regards as the invention. In claim 2, the recitation of “the power switching condition” (line 2) lacks proper antecedent basis. Did the applicant mean “the preset power switching condition”?. Since the metes and bounds of the claim cannot be determined renders the claim indefinite. Claim 3, the recitation of “the power switching condition” (line 2) lacks proper antecedent basis. Did the applicant mean “the preset power switching condition”?. Since the metes and bounds of the claim cannot be determined renders the claim indefinite. In claim 5, the recitation of “the power amplifiers is greater than one” appears to repeat the limitation of “the at least two power amplifiers” in claim 1, line 9. It is unclear if it is greater than one or at least two, thus, the metes and bounds of the claim cannot be determined renders the claim indefinite. In claim 6, the recitation of “the power amplifier” (lines 2 and 6) lacks proper antecedent basis. Did the applicant mean “the power amplifiers”?. Thus, the metes and bounds of the claim cannot be determined renders the claim indefinite. In claims 8-10 and 12, the recitation of “the power supply network” (line 2) lacks proper antecedent basis. Did the applicant mean “the driver power supply network”? Thus, the metes and bounds of the claim cannot be determined renders the claim indefinite. Regarding claims 11 and 18-19, the recitation of “the switch” (line 2) lacks proper antecedent basis. thus, the metes and bounds of the claim cannot be determined renders the claim indefinite. In claim 13, the recitation of “the power amplifier” (lines 2 and 3) lacks proper antecedent basis. Did the applicant mean “the power amplifiers”?. Thus, the metes and bounds of the claim cannot be determined renders the claim indefinite. Claims 14 and 17 is also indefinite because of the technical deficiencies of claims 9 and 13. Allowable Subject Matter Claims 1, 4, 7 and 15-16 are presently allowed. Claims 2, 3, 5, 6, 8-14 and 17-19 would be allowable if rewritten or amended to overcome the rejection(s) under 35 U.S.C. 112(b) or 35 U.S.C. 112 (pre-AIA ), 2nd paragraph, set forth in this Office action. The following is an examiner’s statement of reasons for allowance: prior art of record, Langer (US 2014/0240040) and Henshaw (US 2014/0306756) fails to teach or fairly suggest a power amplification circuit comprising at least two power amplifiers, including a first power amplifier (PAl) and a second power amplifier (PA2), wherein an output end of the driver amplifier is connected to input ends of the power amplifiers; wherein: the radio frequency front-end module is configured such that, when operating in the APT mode, the at least one driver amplifier and the first power amplifier (PA1) are powered by a power supply (VCC); and when a preset power switching condition is satisfied, the first power amplifier (PAl) remains powered by the power supply (VCC) and the second power amplifier (PA2) is powered by a battery supply (Vbatt) as called for in claim 1. Any comments considered necessary by applicant must be submitted no later than the payment of the issue fee and, to avoid processing delays, should preferably accompany the issue fee. Such submissions should be clearly labeled “Comments on Statement of Reasons for Allowance.” Conclusion The prior art made of record and not relied upon is considered pertinent to applicant's disclosure. USP 9,516,693 discloses an envelope power supply circuitry is operated in one of an off-state, a standby-state, and a transmit-state. In the standby-state, select components in envelope power converter circuitry in the envelope power supply circuitry are turned on in order to charge one or more inductive and/or capacitive elements therein to a maximum value necessary for supporting transmission of signals about a maximum output power. Accordingly, the envelope power supply circuitry is able to prepare to support transmission about any output power without knowing the output power ahead of time. USP 2016/0173031 discloses an envelope tracking (ET) is enabled in connection with single-band or multi-band transmission. One example system includes two or more power amplification components associated with distinct frequency bands, with at least one including a first power amplifier (PA) configured to operate in an ET mode, and at least one including a second PA configured to operate in an average power tracking (APT) mode of operation. A first DC-to-DC converter is configured to provide a first supply voltage according to the ET mode to each first PA, and a second DC-to-DC converter is configured to provide a second supply voltage according to the APT mode to each second PA. A control component is configured to determine a present transmission mode and to select on that basis one or more PAs, wherein the control component selects at most one of the first PAs and at most one of the second PAs. Applicant's amendment necessitated the new ground(s) of rejection presented in this Office action. Accordingly, THIS ACTION IS MADE FINAL. See MPEP § 706.07(a). Applicant is reminded of the extension of time policy as set forth in 37 CFR 1.136(a). A shortened statutory period for reply to this final action is set to expire THREE MONTHS from the mailing date of this action. In the event a first reply is filed within TWO MONTHS of the mailing date of this final action and the advisory action is not mailed until after the end of the THREE-MONTH shortened statutory period, then the shortened statutory period will expire on the date the advisory action is mailed, and any nonprovisional extension fee (37 CFR 1.17(a)) pursuant to 37 CFR 1.136(a) will be calculated from the mailing date of the advisory action. In no event, however, will the statutory period for reply expire later than SIX MONTHS from the mailing date of this final action. Any inquiry concerning this communication or earlier communications from the examiner should be directed to TUAN THIEU LAM whose telephone number is (571)272-1744.
