Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 102
The following is a quotation of the appropriate paragraphs of 35 U.S.C. 102 that form the basis for the rejections under this section made in this Office action:
A person shall be entitled to a patent unless –
(a)(1) the claimed invention was patented, described in a printed publication, or in public use, on sale or otherwise available to the public before the effective filing date of the claimed invention.
Claims 1, 19 and 20 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 102(a)(1) as being anticipated by Lin (2017/0361649).
As per claim 1, Lin discloses a brake apparatus which includes a shaft body (see at least figure 2, item 15; paragraph 0042); a housing, sleeved outside the shaft body and configured coaxially with the shaft body, the housing being rotatable relative to the shaft body (see at least figure 2, item 1; paragraph 0042), a magnetic induction mechanism, arranged in the housing to generate resisting force opposite to a rotation direction of the housing to the housing or generate resisting force opposite to a rotation
direction of the shaft body to the shaft body by a magnetic field reaction when the housing rotates relative to the shaft body (see at least the abstract; figures 5, 6, 7, items 13 and 14; paragraphs 0045-0055); and an adjustment mechanism, connected to the magnetic induction mechanism for adjusting a magnitude of the resisting force (see at least figure 2A, item 17, figures 4A, 5A, 8A; paragraphs 0042-0046, 0052).
As per claim 19, Lin discloses that the housing is provided in a circular shape for use as a wheel body (see at least figures 1 and 2).
As per claim 20, Lin discloses a rollator which includes a main frame and the wheel body assembly is rotatably connected to a bottom of the main frame (see at least figure 1).
Claims 2-18 are objected to as being dependent upon a rejected base claim, but would be allowable if rewritten in independent form including all of the limitations of the base claim and any intervening claims.
Conclusion
Claims 1, 19 and 20 are rejected. Claims 2-18 are objected.
