Office Action

§112
CTNF 18/418,763 CTNF 88778 DETAILED ACTION Examiner’s Notes 07-03-aia AIA 15-10-aia The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA. Election/Restrictions 08-25-02 Applicant's election of Group I corresponding to claims 1-19 in the reply on 03/19/2026 is acknowledged. Because applicant did not distinctly and specifically point out the supposed errors in the restriction requirement, the election has been treated as an election without traverse (MPEP § 818.01(a)). Claim 20 is withdrawn from further consideration pursuant to 37 CFR 1.142(b), as being drawn to nonelected Group, there being no allowable generic or linking claim. Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 112 07-30-02 AIA The following is a quotation of 35 U.S.C. 112: (b) CONCLUSION.—The specification shall conclude with one or more claims particularly pointing out and distinctly claiming the subject matter which the inventor or a joint inventor regards as the invention. The following is a quotation of 35 U.S.C. 112 (pre-AIA), second paragraph: The specification shall conclude with one or more claims particularly pointing out and distinctly claiming the subject matter which the applicant regards as his invention. 07-34-01 AIA Claim s 1-19 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 112(b) or 35 U.S.C. 112 (pre-AIA), second paragraph, as being indefinite for failing to particularly point out and distinctly claim the subject matter which the inventor or a joint inventor, or for pre-AIA the applicant regards as the invention. Claim 1 recites “the set exposure time” in line 1. There is insufficient antecedent basis for this limitation in the claim. For the purpose of this office action, the recitation will be treated as if it recites “the exposure time”. All claims which depend on clam 1 are rejected by virtue of dependency. Appropriate correction is required. Claim 2 recites “a reverse bias voltage” in line 2. It is unclear whether the claimed “a reverse bias voltage” is identical to or a different feature from the claimed “a reverse bias voltage” in claim 1. For the purpose of office action, the recitation will be treated as if it recites “the reverse bias voltage”. Appropriate correction is required. Claim 16 recites “EV” in line 2 and in line 3, respectively. It is unclear as to what Applicant intends the claimed “EV” to further limit. Appropriate correction is required. Claim 19 recites “the set exposure time” in line 5. There is insufficient antecedent basis for this limitation in the claim. For the purpose of this office action, the recitation will be treated as if it recites “the exposure time”. Appropriate correction is required.
