Office Action

§102
DETAILED ACTION Information Disclosure Statement The information disclosure statement (IDS) submitted is in compliance with the provisions of 37 CFR 1.97. Accordingly, the information disclosure statement is being considered by the examiner. Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 102 In the event the determination of the status of the application as subject to AIA 35 U.S.C. 102 and 103 (or as subject to pre-AIA 35 U.S.C. 102 and 103) is incorrect, any correction of the statutory basis (i.e., changing from AIA to pre-AIA ) for the rejection will not be considered a new ground of rejection if the prior art relied upon, and the rationale supporting the rejection, would be the same under either status. The following is a quotation of the appropriate paragraphs of 35 U.S.C. 102 that form the basis for the rejections under this section made in this Office action: A person shall be entitled to a patent unless – (a)(2) the claimed invention was described in a patent issued under section 151, or in an application for patent published or deemed published under section 122(b), in which the patent or application, as the case may be, names another inventor and was effectively filed before the effective filing date of the claimed invention. Claims 1, 7 – 9, 11, 15, 16 and 20 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 102(a)(2) as being anticipated by Jaipaul et al US Pat Pub No. 2016/0272472. Regarding claims 1 and 16, Jaipaul et al shows a vehicle lift system comprising: a plurality of lift groups (See at least Figure 1 and Para 0033 for 4 individual lifts with a combination of two lifts being used as a group, the lift system can employ 2,4,6 or 8 lifts 22 with each lift group as two lifts 22), each lift group comprising: a plurality of lift columns configured to lift a vehicle (See at least Figure 1 and Para 0033 for each lift combination as group for lifts 22; Para 0066 for complex coordinated lift from two to twenty independent lifts in individual), a control device (See at least Para 0035 for the lift system to be control via a single user interface 24), a first control device of a first lift group in the plurality of lift groups is configured to receive input from a user (See at least Para 0035 for the lift system to be control via a single user interface 24 receiving touch screen input from user); a linker module comprising a processor and a memory configured with programming instructions executable by the processor to (See at least Para 0036 for remote control module within user interface; also on Para 0066 for wireless control system 100 with processor/micro-computer on figure 6): receive a user command from the first control device (See at least Para 0035 for the lift system to be control via a single user interface 24 receiving touch screen input from user), instruct each lift group to execute the user command using a connection frequency (See at least Para 0044 and for modular control unit 48/user interface 24 using radio frequency wireless transceiver 78, Para 0053), the connection frequency is different for each lift group (See at least Para 0085 and 0086 for each individual lift that is grouped assigned to one frequency channel with other lifts listening to other channel ID on the beacon frequency broadcasting ID for its own ID). Regarding claim 7, Jaipaul et al shows the connection frequency for each lift group is determined based on a transmission factor, the transmission factor being selected from the group consisting of a user input (See at least Para 0010 for user input touch screen display). Regarding claims 8 and 23, Jaipaul et al shows the linker module further comprises a plurality of radios configured to communicate with the control device of a lift group using the connection frequency of the corresponding lift group (See at least Para 0053 for radio frequency transceiver 78 for each lift). Regarding claim 9, Jaipaul et al shows the control device is selected from the group consisting of a wireless control device (See at least Para 0054 for remote control module with touch screen display control unit). Regarding claim 11, Jaipaul et al shows each of the lift groups consists of a number of mobile lift columns, and the number of mobile lift columns in each lift group is selected from the number group consisting of 2, 4, 6, and 8 (See at least Figure 1 and Para 0033 for 4 individual lifts with a combination of two lifts being used as a group, the lift system can employ 2,4,6 or 8 lifts 22 with each lift group as two lifts 22). Regarding claim 15, Jaipaul et al shows each lift column from the plurality of lift groups is a cylinder lift (See at least Para 0093 for hydraulic lifting cylinder). Regarding claim 20, Jaipual et al shows the actively requesting method is polling (See at least Para 0105 for communication polling task). Claim Objections Claims 2 – 6, 10,12 – 14, 17 – 19, 21 - 23 are objected to as being dependent upon a rejected base claim, but would be allowable if rewritten in independent form including all of the limitations of the base claim and any intervening claims.
