DETAILED ACTION
Notice of Pre-AIA or AIA Status
The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA .
Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 102
In the event the determination of the status of the application as subject to AIA 35 U.S.C. 102 and 103 (or as subject to pre-AIA 35 U.S.C. 102 and 103) is incorrect, any correction of the statutory basis (i.e., changing from AIA to pre-AIA ) for the rejection will not be considered a new ground of rejection if the prior art relied upon, and the rationale supporting the rejection, would be the same under either status.
The following is a quotation of the appropriate paragraphs of 35 U.S.C. 102 that form the basis for the rejections under this section made in this Office action:
A person shall be entitled to a patent unless –
(a)(1) the claimed invention was patented, described in a printed publication, or in public use, on sale, or otherwise available to the public before the effective filing date of the claimed invention.
Claim(s) 1-10 is/are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 102(a)(1) as being anticipated by Coverstone (US Pat No. 2019/0341957).
As per claim 1, Coverstone disclosed a mobile phone case (see at least fig. 1B & 1C) with RGB light module (see fig. 1A, 132 & 162; fig. 1D, 160 & 180), wherein the mobile phone case fits to a mobile phone on a front side and configured with a sandwich layer inside, and the sandwich layer is configured with a light-emitting component (see at least fig. 1D); and wherein the light-emitting component comprises, a PCB board (see at least 1D, 150a); light-emitting members (see at least 1A & 1D, 160), all electrically connected to the PCB board, and light-emitting parts of the light-emitting members being disposed towards a back and/or a side of the mobile phone case (see 0125); and a signal transceiver (see 0124), electrically connected to the PCB board and signal connected to a mobile phone signal; and wherein the signal transceiver is configured to receive command information of the mobile phone and send it to the PCB board, and the PCB board is configured to control light-emitting modes of all the light-emitting members via the command information (see at least 0120).
As per claim 2, Coverstone disclosed there are provided with three light-emitting members named a first light-emitting member, a second light-emitting member and a third light-emitting member; and a light-emitting part of the first light-emitting member is disposed towards the side of the mobile phone case, and light-emitting parts of the second and third light-emitting members are disposed towards the back of the mobile phone case (see at least 0125, the lighting 160 comprises multiple light-emitting members and the arrangement/displacement of the light-emitting members are in the front, back and/or sides of the mobile phone).
As per claim 3, Coverstone disclosed a light source of each light-emitting member is an LED light electrically connected to the PCB board, and each light-emitting part is a light guide plate for converting a side light emitted by the LED light into an area light (see at least fig. 1A & 1E, and at least 0125 & 0130)
As per claim 4, Coverstone disclosed one end of the light guide plate of the first light-emitting member is configured on the PCB board and the other end is configured to extend out of the side of the mobile phone case (see fig. 1A & 1D).
As per claim 5, Coverstone disclosed the signal transceiver is Bluetooth (see at least 0084 & 0123).
As per claim 6, Coverstone disclosed the mobile phone case is configured with a mounting groove (see fig. 26, 2620; see fig. 27, 2730), and the light-emitting component is assembled in the mounting groove (see 0147 & 0152).
As per claim 7, Coverstone disclosed the mounting groove is covered with a transparent cover (see 0123, 0125, 0132-0133, and 0156-0159) covering the light-emitting component and the transparent cover and the mounting groove are formed into the sandwich layer (see 0123, 0125, 0132-0133, and 0156-0159)
As per claim 8, Coverstone disclosed the mounting groove is internally configured with a power supply electrically connected to the PCB board (see fig. 1D, 170).
As per claim 9, Coverstone disclosed the mounting groove is configured with a magnetic region inside, and the magnetic region is configured to assist an external power supply device to align the mobile phone for wireless charging (see 0135-0136, electromagnetic energy, wireless charging pad, etc…, and see 0161, claim 10).
As per claim 10, Coverstone disclosed the magnetic region is a magnet (see 0161, claim 10).
