Information Disclosure Statement
The Information Disclosure Statement submitted on 12/29/2023 was considered by the Examiner.
Claim Objections
Claim 33 is objected to because of the following informalities: There should be commas between each structure and an “and” between the last two structures. Claim 35 is also objected to for depending from an objected to claim and not remedying the deficiencies. Appropriate correction is required.
Claim 34 is objected to because of the following informalities: There should be commas between each structure and an “and” between the last two structures. Appropriate correction is required.
Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 112
The following is a quotation of 35 U.S.C. 112(d):
(d) REFERENCE IN DEPENDENT FORMS.—Subject to subsection (e), a claim in dependent form shall contain a reference to a claim previously set forth and then specify a further limitation of the subject matter claimed. A claim in dependent form shall be construed to incorporate by reference all the limitations of the claim to which it refers.
The following is a quotation of pre-AIA 35 U.S.C. 112, fourth paragraph:
Subject to the following paragraph [i.e., the fifth paragraph of pre-AIA 35 U.S.C. 112], a claim in dependent form shall contain a reference to a claim previously set forth and then specify a further limitation of the subject matter claimed. A claim in dependent form shall be construed to incorporate by reference all the limitations of the claim to which it refers.
Claims 25-27 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 112(d) or pre-AIA 35 U.S.C. 112, 4th paragraph, as being of improper dependent form for failing to further limit the subject matter of the claim upon which it depends, or for failing to include all the limitations of the claim upon which it depends.
Claim 25 depends from claim 24 and claim 25 includes definitions for “Rc” that are broader than claim 24. For example, “Rc” may be:

, which does not correctly depend from claim 24. Here is the instant claim 24 definition for “Rc” on p. 12:

. Examiner recommends correcting claim 25, “Rc” definition, to properly depend from the definition laid out in claim 24.
Claim 26 ultimately depends from claim 24 and claim 26 includes definitions for “Rc” that are broader than claim 24. For example, “Rc” may be:

, which does not correctly depend from claim 24. Examiner recommends correcting claim 26, “Rc” definition, to properly depend from the definition laid out in claim 24.
Claim 27 ultimately depends from claim 24 and claim 27 includes definitions for “Rc” that are different than claim 24. For example, “Rc” may be:

, which does not correctly depend from claim 24. Examiner recommends correcting claim 27, “Rc” definition, to properly depend from the definition laid out in claim 24.
Applicant may cancel the claim(s), amend the claim(s) to place the claim(s) in proper dependent form, rewrite the claim(s) in independent form, or present a sufficient showing that the dependent claim(s) complies with the statutory requirements.
Closest Prior Art
Claims 1, 17-24, and 28-32 are allowable.
The closest prior art is WO2008142986. WO2008142986 discloses the following bridged compound at the end of claim 1:

, which differs from a compound of instant formula (I):

in multiple locations and connectivity. For example, the prior art compound does not have two aromatic rings, representing instant rings A and B. Therefore, the prior art does not provide motivation for, nor render obvious, the instant claims.
