Office Action

§102
Notice of Pre-AIA or AIA Status The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA . Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 102 The following is a quotation of the appropriate paragraphs of 35 U.S.C. 102 that form the basis for the rejections under this section made in this Office action: A person shall be entitled to a patent unless – (a)(2) the claimed invention was described in a patent issued under section 151, or in an application for patent published or deemed published under section 122(b), in which the patent or application, as the case may be, names another inventor and was effectively filed before the effective filing date of the claimed invention. Claim(s) 1-4, 7, 9-14 and 16-19 is/are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 102(a)(2) as being anticipated by Lee et al. (US 2022/0132341 A1). Lee teaches a configuration for PDCCH using a group of slots for PDCCH monitoring occasions (Figure 4). With respect to the claims, references to the prior art appear in parenthesis. Claims 1. (Currently Amended) A user equipment (UE) (Lee et al. US 2022/0132341 A1, communication system in Figure 1A with components in Figure 1B) , comprising: at least one memory; and at least one processor coupled with the at least one memory and configured to cause the UE to: receive a configuration comprising information to determine one or more slots of a group of slots for monitoring one or more physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) occasions (Figure 6, Step 610 configuration Information for a Search Space corresponding to one or more slots of a group of 10 Slots in Figure 4) ; monitor the one or more PDCCH occasions during the one or more slots (Figure 6, Step 620 Monitors for a PDCCH in a Configured Periodic Search Space) ; and receive a PDCCH during at least one monitored PDCCH occasion (Figure 6, Step 650 Receives a PDCCH in a SP-SS Slot) . 2. (Currently Amended) The UE of claim 1, wherein the configuration comprises a radio resource control (RRC) configuration (RRC configuration in paragraph 0095) . 3. (Currently Amended) The UE of claim 1, wherein the at least one processor is configured to cause the UE to receive a first indication of the one or more slots in the group of slots, and the first indication comprises a first bitmap with a size equal to a number of slots in the group of slots (Bitmap in paragraph 0135 which corresponds to the number of slots since each bit may be associated with one slot) . 4. (Currently Amended) The UE of claim 3, wherein the first bitmap indicates a presence of the one or more PDCCH occasions for the one or more slots in the group of slots by setting a bit value to '1' (Bitmap value of ‘1’ in paragraph 0135) . 7. (Currently Amended) The UE of claim 1, wherein the at least one processor is configured to cause the UE to configure a PDCCH monitoring periodicity, wherein the PDCCH monitoring periodicity corresponds to a multiple of a number of slots in the group of slots (Search Space Periodicity in Figure 4) . 9. (Currently Amended) The UE of claim 1, wherein the at least one processor is configured to cause the UE to configure a PDCCH monitoring duration, wherein the PDCCH monitoring duration corresponds to a factor of a number of slots in the group of slots and less than or equal to a threshold (Monitoring duration corresponds to the number of slots in the group of slots and less than a threshold in paragraph 0112) . 10. (Currently Amended) A method performed by a user equipment (UE) (Lee et al. US 2022/0132341 A1, communication system in Figure 1A with components in Figure 1B), the method comprising: receiving a configuration comprising information to determine one or more slots of a group of slots for monitoring one or more physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) occasions (Figure 6, Step 610 configuration Information for a Search Space corresponding to one or more slots of a group of 10 Slots in Figure 4); monitoring the one or more PDCCH occasions during the one or more slots (Figure 6, Step 620 Monitors for a PDCCH in a Configured Periodic Search Space) ; and receiving a PDCCH during at least one monitored PDCCU occasion (Figure 6, Step 650 Receives a PDCCH in a SP-SS Slot). 11. (Currently Amended) A base station (Lee et al. US 2022/0132341 A1, communication system in Figure 1A with components in Figure 1B), comprising: at least one memory; and at least one processor coupled with the at least one memory and configured to cause the base station to: transmit a configuration comprising information to determine one or more slots of a group of slots for monitoring one or more physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) occasions (Figure 6, Step 610 configuration Information for a Search Space corresponding to one or more slots of a group of 10 Slots in Figure 4); and transmit a PDCCH on at least one monitored PDCCH occasion of the at least one monitored PDCCH occasion (Figure 6, Step 650 Receives a PDCCH in a SP-SS Slot). 12. (Currently Amended) The base station of claim 11, wherein the configuration comprises a radio resource control (RRC) configuration (RRC configuration in paragraph 0095) . 13. (Currently Amended) The base station of claim 11, wherein the at least one processor is configured to cause the base station to transmit a first indication of the one or more slots in the group of slots, and the first indication comprises a first bitmap with a size equal to a number of slots in the group of slots (Bitmap in paragraph 0135 which corresponds to the number of slots since each bit may be associated with one slot) . 14. (Currently Amended) The base station of claim 13, wherein the first bitmap indicates a presence of the one or more PDCCH occasions for the one or more slots in the group of slots by setting a bit value to '1' (Bitmap value of ‘1’ in paragraph 0135). 16. (New) A processor for wireless communication (Lee et al. US 2022/0132341 A1, communication system in Figure 1A with components in Figure 1B), comprising: at least one controller coupled with at least one memory and configured to cause the processor to: receive a configuration comprising information to determine one or more slots of a group of slots for monitoring one or more physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) occasions (Figure 6, Step 610 configuration Information for a Search Space corresponding to one or more slots of a group of 10 Slots in Figure 4); monitor the one or more PDCCH occasions during the one or more slots (Figure 6, Step 620 Monitors for a PDCCH in a Configured Periodic Search Space) ; and receive a PDCCH during at least one monitored PDCCH occasion (Figure 6, Step 650 Receives a PDCCH in a SP-SS Slot). 17. (New) The processor of claim 16, wherein the configuration comprises a radio resource control (RRC) configuration (RRC configuration in paragraph 0095) . 18. (New) The processor of claim 16, wherein the at least one controller is configured to cause the processor to receive a first indication of the one or more slots in the group of slots, and the first indication comprises a first bitmap with a size equal to a number of slots in the group of slots (Bitmap in paragraph 0135 which corresponds to the number of slots since each bit may be associated with one slot) . 19. (New) The processor of claim 18, wherein the first bitmap indicates a presence of the one or more PDCCH occasions for the one or more slots in the group of slots by setting a bit value to '1' (Bitmap value of ‘1’ in paragraph 0135). Allowable Subject Matter Claims 5, 6, 8, 15 and 20 are objected to as being dependent upon a rejected base claim, but would be allowable if rewritten in independent form including all of the limitations of the base claim and any intervening claims.
