DETAILED ACTION
This action is responsive to the application filed 12/2/2023.
Claims 1-8 are pending.
Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 102
The following is a quotation of the appropriate paragraphs of 35 U.S.C. 102 that form the basis for the rejections under this section made in this Office action:
A person shall be entitled to a patent unless –
(a)(1) the claimed invention was patented, described in a printed publication, or in public use, on sale, or otherwise available to the public before the effective filing date of the claimed invention.
Claims 1, 5, 7 and 8 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 102(a)(1) as being anticipated by Miki, et al., U.S. PGPUB No. 2019/0220969 (“Miki”).
With regard to Claim 1, Miki teaches a display control device, comprising:
a memory, and at least one processor coupled to the memory (Fig. 14), wherein the at least one processor is configured to:
acquire a value corresponding to a number of aggregation targets that are present, the number being collected in a predetermined time unit for each of a plurality of regions obtained by virtually dividing a real space ([0023] describes observing an observation value indicating a degree of congestion of people at a certain spot observed at a particular time);
calculate each of three different indexes from the value acquired by the acquisition unit; and display, on a display unit, a visualized image in which a pixel value obtained by associating the three indexes calculated by the calculation unit with three elements of a color space, respectively, is set as a pixel value indicating the region ([0023] describes that the congestion degree can be used to display a heat map in which color parameters such as hue, saturation and brightness are used as pixel values in accordance with the size of the congestion degree).
Claim 7 recites a method carried out by the device of Claim 1, and is similarly rejected. Claim 8 recites a medium storing a program to perform the processing performed by the device of Claim 1, and is likewise rejected.
With regard to Claim 5, Miki teaches that the at least one processor is further configured to: calculate the three indexes for each of a plurality of different granularities by aggregating the value for each of the granularities, and divide an inside of the region into a plurality of small regions, and display pixel values corresponding to the three indexes for each of the granularities as pixel values indicating the small regions corresponding to each of the granularities.
Miki at [0036]-[0037] describes that map and position information are each received. The heat map is generated for the specific map information, where the heat map is generated to be displayed as the calculated pixel values over the actual image of the map, meaning that heat maps are each calculated according to the particular position of the map. Fig. 3 shows a zoom control, thereby indicating the map data is also displayed at various granularities and then heat map color values determined therefor.
Allowable Subject Matter
Claims 2-4 and 6 are objected to as being dependent upon a rejected base claim, but would be allowable if rewritten in independent form including all of the limitations of the base claim and any intervening claims.
