This communication is response to the application filed 12/05/2023 havingclaims 3-5 are pending and presented for examination, 1-2 are cancelled. Priority 2. Application filed on 12/05/2023 is a 371 of PCT/CN2022/097647 06/08/2022 FOREIGN APPLICATIONS CHINA 202110650788.0 06/10/2021 are acknowledged. Drawings 3. The drawings were received on 12/05/2023and these drawings are accepted. 4. Information Disclosure Statement The information disclosure statement (IDS) submitted on 12/05/2023, 12/05/2023 is in compliance with the provisions of 37 CFR 1.97. Accordingly, the information disclosure statement is being considered by the examiner. Oath/Declaration 4. The Oath/Declaration filed on 12/05/2023is accepted by the examiner. Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 102 1. In the event the determination of the status of the application as subject to AIA 35 U.S.C. 102 and 103 (or as subject to pre-AIA 35 U.S.C. 102 and 103) is incorrect, any correction of the statutory basis for the rejection will not be considered a new ground of rejection if the prior art relied upon, and the rationale supporting the rejection, would be the same under either status. 2. The following is a quotation of the appropriate paragraphs of 35 U.S.C. 102 that form the basis for the rejections under this section made in this Office action: A person shall be entitled to a patent unless – (a)(2) the claimed invention was described in a patent issued under section 151, or in an application for patent published or deemed published under section 122(b), in which the patent or application, as the case may be, names another inventor and was effectively filed before the effective filing date of the claimed invention. Claims 3-4 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 102 (a)(2) as being anticipated by US Publication US 20230129741 A1 Ji et al. (Hereinafter “Ji "). As per claim 3, Ji teaches User equipment (UE) (fig .6, UE), comprising: a processor; and a memory in electronic communication with the processor (fig . 6, UE), wherein instructions stored in the memory are executable to: receive, from a network, a Radio Resource Rontrol (RRC) reconfiguration message including information of switching to target relay UE and an identity of the target relay UE (para 0048-0049], fig. 1, receiving from a network Resource Rontrol (RRC) reconfiguration message including information of switching to target relay UE and target relay information); start a timer and perform a ProSe protocol 5 (PC5)-RRC connection establishment with the target relay UE (para 0051-0052], fig.1, start a timer to perform sidelink ProSe protocol 5 (PC5)-RRC connection establishment with the target relay UE); submit an RRC reconfiguration complete message to a lower layer for transmission (para 0051-0052], fig.1, upon completion sending a message to lower for communication and transmission); upon reception of acknowledgement for the RRC reconfiguration complete message from the target relay UE, stop the timer (para 0059], upon completion and successful acknowledgement from the target UE stop the timer); and in a case where the timer expires, initiate an RRC re-establishment procedure (para 0059], fig. 3,in case there is any expire initiate an RRC re-establishment procedure) . As per claim 4, Ji teaches a method performed by user equipment (UE) (fig. 6), the method comprising: receiving, from a network, a Radio Resource Control (RRC) reconfiguration message including information of switching to target relay UE and an identity of the target relay UE (para 0048-0049], fig. 1, receiving from a network Resource Rontrol (RRC) reconfiguration message including information of switching to target relay UE and target relay information);; starting a timer and performing a ProSe protocol 5 (PC5)-RRC connection establishment with the target relay UE(para 0051-0052], fig.1, start a timer to perform sidelink ProSe protocol 5 (PC5)-RRC connection establishment with the target relay UE);; submitting an RRC reconfiguration complete message to a lower layer for transmission(para 0051-0052], fig.1, upon completion sending a message to lower for communication and transmission);; upon reception of acknowledgement for the RRC reconfiguration complete message from the target relay UE, stopping the timer(para 0059], upon completion and successful acknowledgement from the target UE stop the timer);; and in a case where the timer expires, initiating an RRC re-establishment procedure(para 0059], fig. 3,in case there is any expire initiate an RRC re-establishment procedure) .. As per claim 5, a base station apparatus that communicates with user equipment (UE), comprising: a processor; and a memory in electronic communication with the processor, wherein instructions stored in the memory are executable to: transmit, to the UE, a Radio Resource Control (RRC) reconfiguration message including information of switching to target relay UE and an identity of the target relay UE ((para 0048-0049], fig. 1, base station is transmitting to a UE a Radio Resource Control (RRC) reconfiguration message including information of switching to target relay UE and an identity of the target relay UE), thereby causing the UE to: start a timer and perform a ProSe protocol 5 (PC5)-RRC connection establishment with the target relay UE(para 0051-0052], fig.1, start a timer to perform sidelink ProSe protocol 5 (PC5)-RRC connection establishment with the target relay UE);;; submit an RRC reconfiguration complete message to a lower layer for transmission; upon reception of acknowledgement for the RRC reconfiguration complete message from the target relay UE, stop the timer(para 0059], upon completion and successful acknowledgement from the target UE stop the timer);;; and in a case where the timer expires, initiate an RRC re-establishment procedure(para 0059], fig. 3,in case there is any expire initiate an RRC re-establishment procedure) ...
