(10) Regarding claim 22:
Line 2 recites “wherein the program”; the examiner suggests changing to “wherein the computer program”.
(11) Regarding claim 23:
Line 2 recites “wherein the program”; the examiner suggests changing to “wherein the computer program”.
Appropriate correction is required.
Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 112
The following is a quotation of 35 U.S.C. 112(b):
(b) CONCLUSION.—The specification shall conclude with one or more claims particularly pointing out and distinctly claiming the subject matter which the inventor or a joint inventor regards as the invention.
The following is a quotation of 35 U.S.C. 112 (pre-AIA ), second paragraph:
The specification shall conclude with one or more claims particularly pointing out and distinctly claiming the subject matter which the applicant regards as his invention.
Claims 4, 10-12, and 21-23 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 112(b) or 35 U.S.C. 112 (pre-AIA ), second paragraph, as being indefinite for failing to particularly point out and distinctly claim the subject matter which the inventor or a joint inventor (or for applications subject to pre-AIA 35 U.S.C. 112, the applicant), regards as the invention.
(1) Regarding claim 4:
Claim 4 recites the limitation "the discovered screen projection devices" in line 4. There is insufficient antecedent basis for this limitation in the claim.
(2) Regarding claim 10:
Claim 10 recites the limitation “the position information of at least one screen projecting devices stored in the server” in lines 6-7. There is insufficient antecedent basis for this limitation in the claim.
Claim 10 recites the limitation “the network information of each close-range screen” in line 10. There is insufficient antecedent basis for this limitation in the claim.
Allowable Subject Matter
Claims 1-3, 5-9, 15, 17-20 are objected to for minor informality, but would be allowable if rewritten to overcome the objection.
The following is a statement of reasons for the indication of allowable subject matter:
(1) Regarding claims 1-3, 5-8, 15, and 17-19:
The present invention describes a screen projecting device discovery method, which is applied to a terminal device, the method comprising receiving a device discovery instruction; generating, in response to the device discovery instruction, a device discovery request carrying device information of the terminal device, and sending the device discovery request to a server, wherein the device discovery request is used for requesting the server to determine all candidate screen projecting devices that are located in the same local area network as the terminal device based on the device information of the terminal device, the device information including at least one of position information and network information; receiving local area network communication address information of each candidate screen projecting device returned by the server; and determining a target screen projecting device from among all the candidate screen projecting devices according to the local area network communication address information of each candidate screen projecting device. The closest prior art, CN113055976A used in PCT written opinion of PCT/CN2022/096010 discloses a wireless screen projection method comprising transmitting a screen projection demand broadcast comprises connection information of a transmitting end equipment, in response to the broadcast, receive feedback connection establishment request from receiving end devices, and form a screen projection equipment list and select a receiving end device for screencasting; another closest prior art CN111405042A listed in the IDS filed on 3/15/2024 discloses a first electronic equipment acquire an address resolution protocol table comprises media access control address and internal protocol address of second electronic equipment such as screen projection devices, and based on the information in the address resolution protocol table, select and connect to a target electronic equipment, but both references fail to disclose sending the device discovery request to a server, wherein the device discovery request is used for requesting the server to determine all candidate screen projecting devices that are located in the same local area network as the terminal device based on the device information of the terminal device, the device information including at least one of position information and network information; receiving local area network communication address information of each candidate screen projecting device returned by the server; and determining a target screen projecting device from among all the candidate screen projecting devices according to the local area network communication address information of each candidate screen projecting device.
(2) Regarding claims 9 and 20:
The present invention describes a screen projecting device discovery method, which is applied to a server, the method comprising receiving a device discovery request sent from a terminal device, which carries device information of the terminal device, the device information including at least one of position information and network information; determining all candidate screen projecting devices that are located in the same local area network as the terminal device according to the device information of the terminal device; and sending local area network communication address information of each candidate screen projecting device to the terminal device, so that the terminal device determines a target screen projecting device from among all the candidate screen projecting devices according to the local area network communication address information of each candidate screen projecting device. The closest prior art, CN113055976A used in PCT written opinion of PCT/CN2022/096010 discloses a wireless screen projection method comprising transmitting a screen projection demand broadcast comprises connection information of a transmitting end equipment, in response to the broadcast, receive feedback connection establishment request from receiving end devices, and form a screen projection equipment list and select a receiving end device for screencasting; another closest prior art CN111405042A listed in the IDS filed on 3/15/2024 discloses a first electronic equipment acquire an address resolution protocol table comprises media access control address and internal protocol address of second electronic equipment such as screen projection devices, and based on the information in the address resolution protocol table, select and connect to a target electronic equipment, but both references fail to disclose the method step of determining all candidate screen projecting devices that are located in the same local area network as the terminal device according to the device information of the terminal device; and sending local area network communication address information of each candidate screen projecting device to the terminal device, so that the terminal device determines a target screen projecting device from among all the candidate screen projecting devices according to the local area network communication address information of each candidate screen projecting device.
Conclusion
The prior art made of record and not relied upon is considered pertinent to applicant's disclosure.
Cheng (US 2015/0365453 A1) discloses media projection method and device, control, terminal and cloud server.
Manion et al. (US 2003/0236889 A1) discloses data projection system and method.
