Claim Objections
Claims 1-10 are objected to because of the following informalities. Applicant is advised to remove all numbers in the claims. Appropriate correction is required.
Claims 4-10 are objected to as being dependent upon a rejected base claim, but would be allowable if rewritten in independent form including all of the limitations of the base claim and any intervening claims.
Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 102
The following is a quotation of the appropriate paragraphs of 35 U.S.C. 102 that form the basis for the rejections under this section made in this Office action:
A person shall be entitled to a patent unless –
(a)(1) the claimed invention was patented, described in a printed publication, or in public use, on sale, or otherwise available to the public before the effective filing date of the claimed invention.
Claims 1-3 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 102 (a)(1) as being anticipated by Doyle, John et al. (US PG PUB 2016/0092088).
As per claim 1, Doyle discloses a plurality of computing devices, such as gamepad 104 (1), Fig 1, comprising: a gamepad (see., Doyle Fig 1, item 104 (1), paragraph 0024) connector for a gaming device, connectable with a gamepad (see., Doyle, Fig 1, item 104 (1)); a base body (see., Fig 1, item 104 (1) please note that all gamepads have base body); a palm rest connected to the base body and comprising a gamepad slot (see., Fig 1, item 104 (1), slot 704, paragraph 0067, which is a gameplay video) for receiving the gamepad; wherein the base body is connectable with a display screen (see., Fig 7, , display 700, paragraph 0070) component, a multifunction component (see., paragraphs 0054 and 0086, low power CPU), Fig 4 and a game console (see., paragraph 0024, game console) , so that the gamepad, the gamepad connector (see., Fig 1, communications interface 122, paragraphs 0031 and 0026), the display screen component, the game console and the multifunctional component form a whole (see., Figs 1-7, paragraphs 0024-0067).
As per claim 2, Doyle discloses the claimed limitation as stated in claim 1 above, wherein the base body is provided with a loudspeaker (see., paragraph 0115, peripheral output devices, e.g., audio speakers).
As per claim 3, Doyle discloses the claimed limitations as stated in claim 1 above, wherein the gamepad slot has a shape adapted to the gamepad, and the palm rest has a curved contour so as to be suitable for a human hand to hold (see., Fig 7, paragraph 0067, slot 704, which is gameplay video shape).
(a)(2) the claimed invention was described in a patent issued under section 151, or in an application for patent published or deemed published under section 122(b), in which the patent or application, as the case may be, names another inventor and was effectively filed before the effective filing date of the claimed invention.
Claim 1 is rejected under 35 U.S.C. 102 (a)(2) as being anticipated by Hu, Xiaochen (US PG PUB 2023/0241493).
As per claim 1, Hu discloses a housing of a gamepad (see., Figs 1-5, abstract), comprising: a gamepad (see., Fig 1, abstract, paragraph 0002) connector for a gaming device, connectable with a gamepad ; a base body (see., Figs 1-5); a palm rest (see., Figs 1-5) connected to the base body and comprising a gamepad slot (see., Fig 1, item 128, paragraph 0023) for receiving the gamepad; wherein the base body is connectable with a display screen (see., Figs 1-5) component, a multifunction component and a game console, game console), so that the gamepad, the gamepad connector, the display screen component, the game console and the multifunctional component form a whole (see., Figs 1-7, paragraphs 0002-0053).
