DETAILED ACTION
Notice of Pre-AIA or AIA Status
The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA .
Claims 1-20 have been examined.
Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 112
The following is a quotation of 35 U.S.C. 112(b):
(b) CONCLUSION.—The specification shall conclude with one or more claims particularly pointing out and distinctly claiming the subject matter which the inventor or a joint inventor regards as the invention.
The following is a quotation of 35 U.S.C. 112 (pre-AIA ), second paragraph:
The specification shall conclude with one or more claims particularly pointing out and distinctly claiming the subject matter which the applicant regards as his invention.
Claims 1-17 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 112(b) or 35 U.S.C. 112 (pre-AIA ), second paragraph, as being indefinite for failing to particularly point out and distinctly claim the subject matter which the inventor or a joint inventor (or for applications subject to pre-AIA 35 U.S.C. 112, the applicant), regards as the invention.
In reference to claims 1-5, 14-17
The language “in any combination” in claim 1, line 5 renders the claim indefinite because the scope of the claim is unclear. The language “in any combination” implies any combination with anything rendering the scope of the claim indefinite.
The Examiner recommends overcoming the rejection by amending “the at least one processor, individually or in any combination, is” to
--the at least one processor is--.
Claims 2-5 and 14-17 contain similar language as claim 1 and are similarly rejected.
The Examiner recommends overcoming the rejections by amending “the at least one processor, individually or in any combination, is” to
--the at least one processor is--.
In reference to claims 6-13
Claims 6-13 are rejected because they depend on a rejected parent claim.
Allowable Subject Matter
Claims 18-20 are allowed.
Conclusion
The prior art made of record and not relied upon is considered pertinent to applicant's disclosure are:
US 2025/0247740 pertains to transmitting device applies a FEC encoding scheme (e.g., Raptor, RaptorQ, Reed-Solomon codes, 2D parity codes) according to the AL-FEC configuration (e.g., FECFRAME Configuration Information) to generate a numerical quantity of repair symbols that make up repair data packets or redundant data packets.
US 2024/0014932 pertains to receiving, from a base station via a radio resource control (RRC) signaling, information indicating a number N of code block groups per transport block (TB), wherein a code block group comprises at least one code block, receiving, from the base station, control information scheduling data, receiving, from the base station, the data on a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) based on the control information, the data including code block groups of a TB, generating hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback information for the code block groups of the TB, the code block groups of the TB being identified based on a number of code blocks (CBs) for the TB and the number N of code block groups per TB, and transmitting the HARQ feedback information to the base station, wherein a bit size of the transmitted HARQ feedback information is identical to the number N of the code block group per TB.
US 2018/0254870 pertains to encoding scheme for the PSDU. An input bit stream may be optionally encoded with the Reed-Solomon coding. The parameters of the Reed-Solomon coding may comprise [k+8,k,9]. Thus, K symbols, each consisting of 6 bits are encoded by a Reed-Solomon encoder. The Reed-Solomon encoder adds 8 parity symbols (again each 6 bits).
US 2024/0187934 pertains to confirming a maximum data rate supported by the terminal; confirming an instant data rate on the basis of the number of slots corresponding to one transport block (TB); confirming whether or not the maximum data rate satisfies the condition of being equal to or greater than the instant data rate; and transmitting or receiving data on the basis of whether or not the condition is satisfied.
US 2017/0195082 pertains to performing code block segmentation for wireless transmission using concatenated forward error correction encoding includes receiving a transport block of data for transmission having a transport block size, along with one or more parameters that define a target code rate. A number N of inner code blocks needed to transmit the transport block is determined. A number M—outer code blocks may be calculated based on the number of inner code blocks and on encoding parameters for the outer code blocks. The transport block may then be segmented and encoded according to the calculated encoding parameters.
US 10177784 pertains to packet transmission method of the present invention includes acquiring a source payload including partial source symbols from a source block, generating a source packet including the source payload and an identifier (ID) of the source payload, generating a repair packet including a repair payload corresponding to the source payload and an ID of the repair payload, generating a Forward Error Correction (FEC) packet block including the source and repair packets, and transmitting the FEC packet block. The source payload ID includes a source payload sequence number incrementing by 1 per source packet.
