Detailed Office Action 1. Claims 1-11 are pending. Claims 1, 10, and 11 are independent. Claim Rejection – 35 U.S.C. 102 07-07-aia AIA 07-07 2. The following is a quotation of the appropriate paragraphs of 35 U.S.C. 102 that form the basis for the rejections under this section made in this Office action: A person shall be entitled to a patent unless – 07-08-aia AIA (a)(1) the claimed invention was patented, described in a printed publication, or in public use, on sale, or otherwise available to the public before the effective filing date of the claimed invention. 07-15 AIA 3. Claim s 1-4, 10, and 11 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 102( a)(1 ) as being anticipated by Hayashi (US 2016/0041795 A1) . Regarding claim 1, Hayashi discloses an information processing apparatus (management server 101 as an information processing apparatus of Hayashi) (Hayashi, Figs. 1 and 2, para 0031, 0030; Fig. 3 and para 0039; abstract) (an information processing apparatus acquires a job ticket in which print settings are described, reflects the print settings described in the job ticket to a public portion of the settings of the printer driver stored in a storage portion) comprising: a storage that stores an application (application 200) capable of supporting print settings corresponding to a device in cooperation with a printer driver (204) (Fig. 2, para 0033 and 0035-0038; note Fig. 2 and para 0033 : “Fig. 2 illustrates a configuration of the management server 101 according to the present exemplary embodiment. Referring to Fig. 2, a workflow application 200 has functions of registering an order, generating a print job based on information of the order registered in a workflow application 200, determining an image forming apparatus which is a transmission destination of the print job, and transmitting the job.”); and a controller (CPU 300, Fig. 3 of Hayashi) that obtains device information of the device (image forming apparatus 102 or 103, among a list of image forming devices) associated with the application when the application is activated (para 0035), wherein the controller (CPU) stores the print setting corresponding to the device in the storage on the basis of the obtained device information (para 0045-0047, note 0047); and reflects the print settings stored in the storage, when executing print on the basis of the application (para 0047-0048, note 0047; Fig. 19 and para 0049-0050). Regarding claim 2/1, the controller of Hayashi (Fig. 7) displays a first setting screen that accepts selection of the device for which the print settings are to be stored, on the display (Fig. 7, para 0053-0057). Regarding claim 3/2, the first setting screen of Hayashi (Fig. 7) includes a device selection item that accepts selection of all the devices (image forming apparatuses 102 and 103) or one (102 or 103) of all the devices related to the obtained device information (Hayashi, Fig. 7, note items 700 and 708). Regarding claim 4/3, the first setting screen of Hayashi (Fig. 7) includes a function selection item that accepts selection of a print function realizable by the selected device (102 or 103 in Fig.7) (in Fig. 7, in case the device 103 is selected by selecting item 708, the function 716 “TAPE BOOKBINDING” of the FINISHING function of device 103 accepts selection of the function 716, which is a print function realizable by the selected device 103). Claims 10 and 11 correspond to rejected apparatus claim 1 and are rejected for the reason given for claim 1 . Allowable subject matter 07-43-02 AIA 4. Claim s 5-9 would be allowable if rewritten to overcome the rejection(s) under 35 U.S.C. 112(b) or 35 U.S.C. 112 (pre-AIA), 2nd paragraph, set forth in this Office action and to include all of the limitations of the base claim and any intervening claims. Claims 5, 7, 8, and 9 would be allowable because Hayashi does not disclose the subject claimed in any of claims 5, 7, 8, and 9. Claims 6 depend on claim 5, directly or indirectly Pertinent Prior Art 07-96 5. The prior art or art made of record and not relied upon is considered pertinent to applicant's disclosure. Kawano (US 2022/0150371 A1) discloses an information processing system comprising an image forming device and an information processing device, wherein the information processing device has a printer driver installed for causing an image forming device to perform processing according to an item, and is provided with an editable tab on a settings screen of the printer driver such that an item can be selected by a user , and the information processing device includes a requester that, in a state where information about the editable tab has been registered in the image forming device by an administrator, makes an acquisition request for information about the registered editable tab from the printer driver to the image forming device; a receiver that receives the information about the registered editable tab transmitted by the image forming device in response to the acquisition request; and a reflector that causes the received information about the editable tab to be reflected in an editable tab of the printer driver.
