Claims 1-11 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 102(a)(1) as being anticipated by Anno (US 2014/0160524 A1).
With respect to Claim 1, Anno’524 shows an information processing apparatus (Figure 2 image processing apparatus 103) comprising: one or more memories storing instructions (figure 2); and one or more processors (figure 2 CPU 211 ) executing the instructions to:
accept an editing operation to change registered first paper information (figure 5 details/editing button 808, paragraph [0062] ); and
register paper information based on the accepted editing operation as second paper information, which is different from the first paper information, in a case where a type of the first paper information is base paper (paragraph [0062] when the details/editing button 808 is selected on a basic/base paper an error screen informing that the basic paper is not editable is displayed, however a new/copy button 809 can be used in paragraph [0061] generate/register a new user setting paper), and
overwrite the registered first paper information with the paper information based on the editing operation in a case where the type of the first paper information is not the base paper (paragraphs [0064]-[0065] pressing details/editing button 808 on a user setting paper displays screen 901 in figure 6 to edit a user setting paper including name, and settings).
With respect to Claim 2, Anno’524 shows the information processing apparatus according to claim 1, wherein in a case where the type of the first paper information is the base paper, if a name of the paper information based on the editing operation is already used as that of registered paper information, change of the name is accepted (figure 6 change button 912 including name).
With respect to Claim 3, Anno’524 shows the information processing apparatus according to claim 2, wherein in a case where the name is changed, the registered second paper information is overwritten with a changed name (paragraphs [0064]-[0065] pressing details/editing button 808 on a user setting paper displays screen 901 in figure 6 to edit a user setting paper including name, and settings).
With respect to Claim 4, Anno’524 shows the information processing apparatus according to claim 2, wherein in a case where the name is not changed, the registered second paper information is deleted (figure 6 if no change is desired pressing cancel button 904).
With respect to Claim 5, Anno’524 shows the information processing apparatus according to claim 1, wherein a setting value of paper information on the type that is the base paper is managed as unchangeable value (paragraph [0062] when the details/editing button 808 is selected on a basic/base paper an error screen informing that the basic paper is not editable is displayed).
With respect to Claim 6, Anno’524 shows the information processing apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the paper information includes a setting value indicating characteristics of paper (shows edit each of a plurality of attributes, e.g., name 905, size 906, weight 907, color 908, type 909, and category 910, defined for a user setting paper on the screen illustrated in FIG. 6 in paragraph [0064]).
With respect to Claim 7, Anno’524 shows the information processing apparatus according to claim 1, wherein registered paper information can be set in a case where printing is performed (paragraph [0105] a user may want to perform the same settings for a plurality of paper feeding stages simultaneously, for example, when the image processing apparatus performs printing).
With respect to Claim 8, Anno’524 shows the information processing apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the first paper information is registered with a management unit, and the second paper information is registered with the management unit (figure 4 paragraph [0057] The operation screen 701 further includes a paper feeding stage paper setting button 705, which is operable to perform settings for papers stored in the paper feeding stage, and a paper type setting management button 706, which is operable to perform paper type setting management. The administrator presses the paper type setting management button 706 to manage settings relating to the paper type).
With respect to Claim 9, Anno’524 shows an information processing apparatus (Figure 2 image processing apparatus 103) comprising: one or more memories storing instructions (figure 2); and one or more processors (figure 2 CPU 211 ) executing the instructions to:
accept a user operation (figure 5 having options for a user to operate like the details/editing button 808, the new/copy button 809 paragraph [0062]); and
perform control that allows a display unit to display a first screen including a list of registered paper information (Figure 5 paper setting management screen option to press basic/base paper button 805 and user setting paper button 806 to display user setting paper) and
a second screen configured to be displayed after selection of paper information in which a type is base paper is received by the first screen (figure 5 selected 805 and 806 ), wherein the second screen includes a region to accept change of the selected paper information (Figure 5 buttons 808 and 809 ).
With respect to Claim 10, Anno’524 the information processing apparatus according to claim 9, wherein a setting value of paper information on the type that is the base paper is managed as unchangeable value (paragraph [0062] when the details/editing button 808 is selected on a basic/base paper an error screen informing that the basic paper is not editable is displayed).
With respect to Claim 11, Anno’524 shows a method of controlling an information processing apparatus comprising:
accepting an editing operation to change registered first paper information (Figure 5 paper setting management screen option to press basic/base paper button 805 and user setting paper button 806 to display user setting paper); and
registering paper information based on the accepted editing operation as second paper information, which is different from the first paper information, in a case where a type of the first paper information is base paper (paragraphs [0064]-[0065] pressing details/editing button 808 on a user setting paper displays screen 901 in figure 6 to edit a user setting paper including name, and settings).
