DETAILED ACTION
Notice of Pre-AIA or AIA Status
The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA .
Claims 1-20 are pending.
Claim Objections
Claims 1-10 are objected to because of the following informalities: claim 1 recites “a power receiving circuit that wirelessly receiving power and includes an inductor a capacitor.” The Examiner will presume this is intended as “a power receiving circuit that wirelessly receiving power and includes an inductor and a capacitor.” Claims 2-10 inherit this deficiency via their dependence on claim 1. Appropriate correction is required.
Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 102
The following is a quotation of the appropriate paragraphs of 35 U.S.C. 102 that form the basis for the rejections under this section made in this Office action:
A person shall be entitled to a patent unless –
(a)(1) the claimed invention was patented, described in a printed publication, or in public use, on sale, or otherwise available to the public before the effective filing date of the claimed invention.
Claims 1-3, 11, and 19 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 102(a)(1) as being anticipated by Lee, et al. (US 2012/0306284, herein Lee).1 Regarding claims 1, 11, and 19, Lee teaches a wireless charging circuit, comprising: a power receiving circuit that wirelessly receiving power and includes an inductor and a capacitor (paragraph 0141); a rectifier circuit that rectifies an alternating current voltage received from the power receiving circuit and outputs a rectified voltage (paragraph 0140); a regulating circuit that outputs a charging voltage that charges a battery using the rectified voltage (paragraph 0124); an overvoltage protection circuit connected in parallel between the rectifier circuit and the regulating circuit (paragraph 0371); and a controller that detects the rectified voltage and controls the overvoltage protection circuit, wherein the overvoltage protection circuit includes a first overvoltage protection circuit and a second overvoltage protection circuit, the second overvoltage protection circuit is turned off when the first overvoltage protection circuit is turned on, and the second overvoltage protection circuit is turned on when the first overvoltage protection circuit is turned off (paragraph 0186). Regarding claim 2, Lee teaches power supplied to the regulating circuit is less than power received from the rectifier circuit (paragraph 0350). Regarding claim 3, Lee teaches the first overvoltage protection circuit includes a current source, and the second overvoltage protection circuit includes a resistor (paragraph 0143).
Allowable Subject Matter
Claims 4-10, 12-18, and 20 are objected to as being dependent upon a rejected base claim, but would be allowable if rewritten in independent form including all of the limitations of the base claim and any intervening claims.
