DETAILED ACTION
Notice of Pre-AIA or AIA Status
The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA .
Claims 1-17 are pending.
Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 102
The following is a quotation of the appropriate paragraphs of 35 U.S.C. 102 that form the basis for the rejections under this section made in this Office action:
A person shall be entitled to a patent unless –
(a)(1) the claimed invention was patented, described in a printed publication, or in public use, on sale, or otherwise available to the public before the effective filing date of the claimed invention.
Claims 1-3 and 13-14 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 102(a)(1) as being anticipated by Xie, et al. (US 2022/0263144, herein Xie).1 Regarding claims 1 and 13, Xie teaches a battery system, comprising: a battery pack (paragraph 0093) and a battery management system (paragraph 0094); the battery management system is connected to the battery pack (paragraph 0094); the battery management system comprises a sampling control unit (paragraph 0109), a direct current DC/DC conversion unit (paragraph 0122), and an energy storage unit (paragraph 0094); the DC/DC conversion unit and the energy storage unit are connected in parallel (paragraph 0091); and the sampling control unit is configured to: based on battery parameters of the battery pack and a voltage and a current limit value of the DC/DC conversion unit, control, in each of at least one consecutive first cycle, the battery pack to discharge to the energy storage unit by using the DC/DC conversion unit (paragraph 0156); control, in each of at least one consecutive second cycle, the energy storage unit to charge the battery pack by using the DC/DC conversion unit (paragraph 0158); and control, in the at least one consecutive first cycle and the at least one consecutive second cycle, an average charge/discharge current value of the battery pack to be less than or equal to a charge/discharge current limit value (paragraph 0159). Regarding claim 2, Xie teaches the battery parameters of the battery pack comprise a battery voltage and a battery temperature (paragraph 0156); and the sampling control unit is further configured to: obtain a first charge/discharge current limit value of the battery pack based on the battery voltage (paragraph 0158); obtain a second charge/discharge current limit value of the battery pack based on the battery temperature (paragraph 0158); and obtain the charge/discharge current limit value based on the smaller one of the first charge/discharge current limit value and the second charge/discharge current limit value (paragraph 0158). Regarding claim 3, Xie teaches the DC/DC conversion unit comprises at least one DC/DC conversion circuit, and DC/DC conversion circuits are connected in parallel (paragraph 0091); the sampling control unit is further configured to: obtain a switching duty cycle and a switching frequency of each of a plurality of switches in each DC/DC conversion circuit based on the battery parameters and the voltage and the current limit value that are of the DC/DC conversion unit (paragraph 0117); and based on the switching duty cycle and the switching frequency of each switch in each DC/DC conversion circuit, control, in each first cycle, the battery pack to discharge to the energy storage unit by using the DC/DC conversion circuit, and control, in each second cycle, the energy storage unit to charge the battery pack by using the DC/DC conversion circuit (paragraph 0117). Regarding claim 14, Xie teaches the power supply system further comprises a power supply module (paragraph 0112) and a power conversion module connected to the power supply module (paragraph 0122).
Allowable Subject Matter
Claims 4-12 and 15-17 are objected to as being dependent upon a rejected base claim, but would be allowable if rewritten in independent form including all of the limitations of the base claim and any intervening claims.
