DETAILED ACTION
Notice of Pre-AIA or AIA Status
The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA .
Claims 1-23 remain pending.
Claims 18-22 have been withdrawn.
Election/Restrictions
Applicant’s election without traverse of Group I claims 1-3, 9-12 in the reply filed on 08/27/2026 is acknowledged.
Claim Objections
Claims 2-3, 5, 11-12, and 14 are objected to because of the following informalities:
Claim 2 line 1 “a PPDU.” should be amended to --a Physical Layer Protocol Data Unit (PPDU).--
Claim 3 line 1-2 “a UHR, UHR+, non-HT, non-HT Duplicate, or NDP PPDU.” should be amended to --a Ultra High Reliability (UHR), UHR+, non-High Throughput (HT), non-HT Duplicate, or Null Data Packet (NDP) PPDU.--
Claim 5 lines 1-2 “a TB, non-HT, non-HT Duplicate, UHR, or UHR+ PPDU.” should be amended to --a Trigger-Based (TB), non-High Throughput (HT), non-HT Duplicate, Ultra High Reliability (UHR), or UHR+ Physical Layer Protocol Data Unit (PPDU).--
Claim 11 line 1 “a PPDU.” should be amended to --a Physical Layer Protocol Data Unit (PPDU).--
Claim 12 line 1-2 “a UHR, UHR+, non-HT, non-HT Duplicate, or NDP PPDU.” should be amended to --a Ultra High Reliability (UHR), UHR+, non-High Throughput (HT), non-HT Duplicate, or Null Data Packet (NDP) PPDU.--
Claim 14 lines 1-2 “a TB, non-HT, non-HT Duplicate, UHR, or UHR+ PPDU.” should be amended to --a Trigger-Based (TB), non-High Throughput (HT), non-HT Duplicate, Ultra High Reliability (UHR), or UHR+ Physical Layer Protocol Data Unit (PPDU).--
Appropriate correction is required.
Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 112
The following is a quotation of 35 U.S.C. 112(b):
(b) CONCLUSION.—The specification shall conclude with one or more claims particularly pointing out and distinctly claiming the subject matter which the inventor or a joint inventor regards as the invention.
The following is a quotation of 35 U.S.C. 112 (pre-AIA ), second paragraph:
The specification shall conclude with one or more claims particularly pointing out and distinctly claiming the subject matter which the applicant regards as his invention.
Claims 3, 5, 12, and 14 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 112(b) or 35 U.S.C. 112 (pre-AIA ), second paragraph, as being indefinite for failing to particularly point out and distinctly claim the subject matter which the inventor or a joint inventor (or for applications subject to pre-AIA 35 U.S.C. 112, the applicant), regards as the invention.
In reference to claims 3, 5, 12, and 14
The term “UHR+” in claim 3 renders the claim indefinite. Paragraph 0091 of the specification recites “"UHR+" represents any generation(s) of 802.11 standards after UHR/802.11”. Thus, the term “UHR+” is indefinite because the meaning of the term extends infinitely into the future unbounded rendering the claim indefinite and one of ordinary skill in the art would not be reasonably apprised of the scope of the invention.
Claims 5, 12 and 14 are similarly rejected.
Allowable Subject Matter
Claims 1, 4, 6-10, 13, 15-17 and 23 are allowed.
Conclusion
The prior art made of record and not relied upon is considered pertinent to applicant's disclosure are:
US 2026/0101377 pertains to transmitting, by a second station, first indication information, wherein the first indication information is used to indicate that the second STA comprises low-latency traffic to be transmitted.
US 2024/0090025 pertains to an apparatus has a logic and a circuitry that is configured to cause an AP to set a prioritized-access enabled and disabled field to indicate whether a prioritized-access contention mechanism is to be enabled and disabled on a wireless medium, where the prioritized-access contention mechanism is configured to allow a prioritized station (STA) to transmit a reservation signal on the wireless medium at reservation signal transmission time, and to contend the wireless medium according to a high-priority contention policy to obtain a Transmit Opportunity (TxOP) after transmission of the reservation signal. The circuitry transmits a frame comprising a prioritized-access enabled and disabled field on the wireless medium.
US 2023/0284250 pertains to generating a request frame that includes a long interframe space indication indicating that frames are to be wirelessly transmitted using a long interframe space interval, wherein the long interframe space interval is longer than at least one other interframe space interval used in the wireless network, wherein low latency transmissions are allowed during long interframe space intervals. The method further includes transmitting the request frame and wirelessly transmitting one or more frames using the long interframe space interval after wirelessly transmitting the request frame.
US 2024/0284496 pertains a wireless device includes a wireless transceiver configured to communicate within a transmit opportunity (TXOP), where the wireless transceiver is further configured to receive a frame indicating a preemption allowance for low latency indication frame transmission from a second wireless device, and a controller configured to control the wireless transceiver to pause or resume data transmission within the TXOP in response to the frame indicating the preemption allowance for low latency indication frame transmission from the second wireless device.
EP 4794384 pertains to an AP sending a first physical layer protocol data unit (PPDU) within a transmission opportunity (TXOP), the first PPDU carrying non-low latency service data, the first PPDU comprising first identification information, and the first identification information being used for instructing to transmit the low latency service data after sending the first PPDU within the TXOP; if a low latency service instruction frame sent by at least one STA is received, the AP receiving a second PPDU sent by at least one STA in the TXOP, the second PPDU carrying the low latency service data, and the low latency service instruction frame being used for instructing to transmit the low latency service data. Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a low latency service data transmission mode.
