DETAILED ACTION
Notice of Pre-AIA or AIA Status
The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA .
Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 102
The following is a quotation of the appropriate paragraphs of 35 U.S.C. 102 that form the basis for the rejections under this section made in this Office action:
A person shall be entitled to a patent unless –
(a)(2) the claimed invention was described in a patent issued under section 151, or in an application for patent published or deemed published under section 122(b), in which the patent or application, as the case may be, names another inventor and was effectively filed before the effective filing date of the claimed invention.
Claims 1-20 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 102(a)(2) as being anticipated by Jang et al. (US 2021/0013626).
Figure 7 of Jang discloses:
(1) regarding Claims 1 and 16:
1. An electronic device comprising:
• a housing (frame 386);
• a display panel (DP 320) disposed in an internal space of the housing (frame 386 surrounds and supports the display panel) so as to be visible from outside the housing through at least a part of the housing ([0123], [0124] and Figs 1 and 7);
• a dielectric sheet (332) disposed between the display panel and the housing and at least partially including a ground area (ground lines 162, 164 in Fig 3, [0064]);
• at least one mesh pattern ([0006]) disposed to be at least partially electrically connected to the ground area and formed in a patch shape (L2 by L1) by a plurality of conductive lines (mesh pattern in Fig 3 and [0071]); and
• a wireless communication circuit (380) configured to transmit or receive a radio signal in a designated frequency band through the at least one mesh pattern (L2 by two times L1 and [0131]), wherein at least a part of the at least one mesh pattern (size of L2 by two times L1) or at least a part of the ground area includes a slot (SL1, SL2) formed to have a length in a first direction (L1 direction, See Fig 3 and [0072]), and wherein the at least one mesh pattern (size of L2 by two times L1) is electrically connected to the wireless communication circuit (380) through at least one electric supply line (160) disposed while traversing (direction L2) the ground area and at least one slot in a second direction intersecting the first direction (L1, Figs 3 and 7 and [0064]).
(2) regarding Claims 2 and 17:
wherein the at least one mesh pattern is formed by: a plurality of first conductive lines disposed at designated intervals; and a plurality of second conductive lines intersecting the plurality of first conductive lines and disposed at designated intervals ([0006]).
(3) regarding Claims 3 and 18:
wherein the slot is formed by excluding the plurality of conductive lines (SL1, SL2 in Fig 2, [0072]).
(4) regarding Claims 4 and 19:
wherein a portion where the at least one electric supply line (160) and the at least one mesh pattern (RD) are connected is disposed in the slot (SL1, SL2).
(5) regarding Claim 5:
wherein the dielectric sheet (332) is disposed to have a size overlapping the display panel (320) when viewed from above the display panel (See Fig 7 and [0124]).
(6) regarding Claim 6:
wherein the at least one mesh pattern is disposed at a position overlapping an active area of the display panel when viewed from above the display panel (See non-active area NDA and active areas in Fig 3).
(7) regarding Claim 7:
wherein the ground area is disposed at a position overlapping a non-active area of the display panel when viewed from above the display panel (See non-active area NDA and active areas in Fig 3).
(8) regarding Claim 8:
comprising: an flexible printed circuit board (FPCB) (382) attached to the dielectric sheet (332), wherein the at least one electric supply line is electrically (transmit and receive) connected to the FPCB (See Fig 7 and [0134]).
(9) regarding Claim 9:
wherein the wireless communication circuit (380) is disposed on the FPCB ([0134]).
(10) regarding Claim 10:
wherein the ground area is disposed on the FPCB attached to overlap the dielectric sheet (See Fig 7).
(11) regarding Claim 11:
wherein radiation performance of the at least one mesh pattern is determined depending on a distance between the slot and the ground area ([0085]-[0089]-area of the slot SL1 smaller or greater from SL2).
(12) regarding Claim 12:
wherein the at least one mesh pattern comprises two or more mesh patterns disposed at designated intervals in the first direction ([0006]).
(13) regarding Claim 13:
wherein the at least one electric supply line comprises a pair of electric supply lines disposed at a designated interval to traverse the slot and the ground area ([0034], [0103]).
(14) regarding Claim 14:
wherein the wireless communication circuit (380) is configured to form directional beams in a direction, in which the display panel is directed, through the at least one mesh pattern (RD, [0120]).
(15) regarding Claim 15:
wherein the designated frequency band includes a frequency band within a range of 3 gigahertz (GHz) to 300 GHz ([0120]).
(16) regarding Claim 20:
a FPCB (382) attached to the dielectric sheet (332) and including a wireless communication circuit (380) electrically connected to the at least one electric supply line (160), in which the wireless communication circuit is configured to form directional beams in a designated frequency band through the at least one mesh pattern, wherein the wireless communication circuit is configured to form directional beams in a direction, in which a display panel is directed, through the at least one mesh pattern ([0120]).
