Office Action

§102
CTNF 18/646,908 CTNF 91750 DETAILED ACTION Notice of Pre-AIA or AIA Status 07-03-aia AIA 15-10-aia The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA. Specification 06-11 AIA The title of the invention is not descriptive. A new title is required that is clearly indicative of the invention to which the claims are directed. 06-11-01 AIA The following title is suggested: -- SPACER FOR LOCKING MULTIPLE TERMINALS IN AN ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR HOUSING --. 07-29 AIA The disclosure is objected to because of the following informalities: on page 9 lines 8-9, the font size is smaller than the rest of the Specification . Appropriate correction is required. Claim Objections 07-29-01 AIA Claim s 2-3 objected to because of the following informalities: in claim 2 lines 5-7, the phrase “the main body portion is arranged at one side of the terminal insertion direction in the retaining arm, and the protrusion portion is arranged at the other side of the terminal insertion direction in the retaining arm” should read --the main body portion is arranged at one side of the retaining arm in the terminal insertion direction, and the protrusion portion is arranged at the other side of the retaining arm in the terminal insertion direction --. Claim 3 includes the limitations of claim 2 and is objected to for the same reasons . Appropriate correction is required. Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 102 07-06 AIA 15-10-15 In the event the determination of the status of the application as subject to AIA 35 U.S.C. 102 and 103 (or as subject to pre-AIA 35 U.S.C. 102 and 103) is incorrect, any correction of the statutory basis (i.e., changing from AIA to pre-AIA) for the rejection will not be considered a new ground of rejection if the prior art relied upon, and the rationale supporting the rejection, would be the same under either status. 07-07-aia AIA 07-07 The following is a quotation of the appropriate paragraphs of 35 U.S.C. 102 that form the basis for the rejections under this section made in this Office action: A person shall be entitled to a patent unless – 07-12-aia AIA (a)(2) the claimed invention was described in a patent issued under section 151, or in an application for patent published or deemed published under section 122(b), in which the patent or application, as the case may be, names another inventor and was effectively filed before the effective filing date of the claimed invention. 07-15-03-aia AIA Claim 1 is rejected under 35 U.S.C. 102(a)(2) as being anticipated by Yoshida (2024/0313459) . With regard to claim 1, Yoshida teaches, as shown in figures 3-11: “A spacer 12 mounted on a housing 11 accommodating a plurality of terminals 14 prevent the plurality of terminals 14 from slipping out, the spacer 12 comprising: a main body portion 44 provided with a plurality of terminal insertion holes 45 through which the plurality of terminals 14 pass respectively; a retaining arm 51 being retained to the housing 11; a connection portion 47 configured to connect the main body portion 44 and the retaining arm 51; and a protrusion portion 48 protruding from the connection portion 47, wherein the main body portion 44 is arranged at one side (right side of 51 in figure 10) of the retaining arm 51, and the protrusion portion 48 is arranged at the other side (left side of 51 in figure 10) of the retaining arm 51”. Allowable Subject Matter Claims 2-3 would be allowable if rewritten to overcome the objection(s) set forth in this Office action and to include all of the limitations of the base claim and any intervening claims.
