Notice of Pre-AIA or AIA Status The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA . Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 103 The following is a quotation of 35 U.S.C. 103 which forms the basis for all obviousness rejections set forth in this Office action: A patent for a claimed invention may not be obtained, notwithstanding that the claimed invention is not identically disclosed as set forth in section 102, if the differences between the claimed invention and the prior art are such that the claimed invention as a whole would have been obvious before the effective filing date of the claimed invention to a person having ordinary skill in the art to which the claimed invention pertains. Patentability shall not be negated by the manner in which the invention was made. Claim(s) 1 is/are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 103 as being unpatentable over You et al. US 12340181 B1, “You”; in view of Fouse et al. US 20240160903 A1, “Fouse” Regarding claim 1, YOU discloses a computer implemented method (col. 5, ll: 1-15) for a KAAI system (col. 2, II. 26-50), the method comprising: Receiving a query (col. 11, ll. 29-35, …asking… ) to KAAI system (col. 2, ll 27-35); creating the necessary actions (co. 2, ll. 33-43, based on tree, see citation below, to create a response) to respond to the query using a KAAI (col. 6, ll. 58-65, tree) tree (literally by traversing the KAAI tree (col. 12, ll. 14-36, i.e. evaluate notes )) (col. 12, ll. 25-55, tree for work flow) to create the chain of thoughts (col. 12, ll. 25-55, evaluation of conditional nodes and storage of intermediate response) and also make sure that the actions are anchored (col. 20, ll. 1-12) using existing knowledge graph (as cited below, a knowledge tree) in the system (col. 19, ll. 50-59, using history for context); maintaining a KV memory called session (col.7 ll. 62-65) which will be preserved (col. 7, lnn 25-32, store status and outputs, flags) and changed (col. 8, ll. 1-12) while processing the query and traversing the tree (col. 9, ll 64-74); At each node in the tree execute Compute Agent logic (col. 7, ll 1-4, workflow agent) i. Get data from the backend (col. 7, ll 55-61, database) ii. Call into API (col. 7, ll work flow agent with API call) iii. Run data transformations (col. 11, ll. 36-61, rewrite utterance using processing) to generate a user interface (UI) (co. 5, ll. 25-65, i.e. UI module provides chat interface); b. May further interact with the user through UI (col. 5, ll. 25-50, chat interface for input and output). It is noted that YOU is silent about c. May amend the tree if needed; d. Update the context memory (session) e. Update the values in the tree as claimed. However, FOUSE discloses c. May amend the tree if needed (FOUSE, ¶ FIG. 9 illustrates a general process overview of the real-time maintenance module 935B whereby context is updated in real-time as utterances are received. When a new utterance is received, the maintenance module examines the current conversation's knowledge graph to see if the participant creating the utterance is represented in the knowledge graph. If the participant is new to the conversation, the context data repository 981 is searched for any knowledge graphs associated with the new participant. The found knowledge graphs for the new participant are interconnected to the current conversation's knowledge graph.); d. Update the context memory (session) (FOUSE, ¶ [0177] The maintenance module updates the current conversation with the utterance which includes information such as the participant provided the utterance, and the time of the utterance was made. Other information about the utterance may be captured such as volume of a spoken utterance and the pitch of the utterance may be captured and included in the knowledge graph. Beyond the utterance and its related information, data may be captured from the participant in real-time which could include the physiological data (heart rate, respiration, galvanic skin response, etc.), behavioral data, (positional, tasking, activity data, etc.), and environmental data (temperature, humidity, location data, etc.). This data is then integrated in the knowledge graph.) e. Update (FOUSE, ¶ 177) the values (FOUSE, ¶ 178) in the tree (as cited above, FOUSE, ¶ 176). Both YOU and FOUSE teach systems with knowledge tree matter of an AI system, and those systems are comparable to that of the instant application. Because the two cited references are analogous to the instant application, it would have been obvious before the effective filing date of the claimed invention to a person having ordinary skill in the art to which the claimed invention pertains, to include in the YOU disclosure, amend and update the knowledge, as taught by FOUSE. Such inclusion would have increased the usefulness of the system by synthesizing novel, veridical concepts from previously established facts, and would have been consistent with the rationale of combining prior art elements according to known methods to yield predictable results to show a prima facie case of obviousness (MPEP 2143(I)(A)) under KSR International Co. v. Teleflex Inc., 127 S. Ct. 1727, 82 USPQ2d 1385, 1395-97 (2007).
