Office Action

§102
Notice of Pre-AIA or AIA Status The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA . 35 USC 102 Rejection The following is a quotation of the appropriate paragraphs of 35 U.S.C. 102 that form the basis for the rejections under this section made in this Office action: A person shall be entitled to a patent unless – (a)(1) the claimed invention was patented, described in a printed publication, or in public use, on sale, or otherwise available to the public before the effective filing date of the claimed invention. Claim(s) 1 is rejected under 35 U.S.C. 102(a)(1) as being anticipated by Clausen 2010/0304608. Clausen (front page) discloses an electrical connector, comprising: a shielding shell assembly, a conductive pin 500 which is positioned in the shielding shell assembly, the conductive pin comprising a first end and a second end which are perpendicular to each other, and an insulative housing 400 which allows the conductive pin to be fixed thereon and separates the shielding shell assembly from the conductive pin; the shielding shell assembly comprising: a middle shielding shell 300, a first shielding shell (identical to second shielding shell 800 but extending horizontally) which is provided to one side of the middle shielding shell and extends along a horizontal direction, and a second shielding shell 800 which is provided to a bottom of the middle shielding shell and extends downwardly, the first shielding shell surrounding an outer side of the first end of the conductive pin to form a first mating cavity, the second shielding shell surrounding an outer side of the second end of the conductive pin to form a second mating cavity. Claims Defining Over Prior Art Claims 2-10 are objected to as being dependent upon a rejected base claim, but would be allowable if rewritten in independent form including all of the limitations of the base claim and any intervening claims. The following is a statement of reasons for the indication of allowable subject matter: none of the prior art discloses or teaches the first and second fixing flanges; nor the connecting portion being fixed on the folding edge; nor an upper end of the second shielding shell inserts into the assembling cavity and tightly fits with an inner wall of the assembling cavity; nor the middle shielding shell is a box structure which is formed by bending a metal plate; in combination with the rest of the subject matter of the independent claim and any intervening claims. Any inquiry concerning this communication or earlier communications from the examiner should be directed to GARY F PAUMEN whose telephone number is (571)272-2013.
