DETAILED ACTION
Response to Amendment
1. Applicant’s amendment filed on 07/07/26 has been received and entered in the case. Upon further review of the claims of this application, it is noted that claim 18 actually does not require the details of either independent claim 1 or independent claim 17, i.e., claim 18 only requires a radio receiver comprising an SE2D capacitive-feedback CMOS LNA or, alternatively, a radio receiver comprising an SE2D resistive-feedback CMOS LNA. In view of this new interpretation of claim 18, a new ground of rejection is now set forth based on USPAP 2017/0070197 (note that this reference was cited by the examiner in paragraph six of the previous office action). Any inconvenience caused by the following new rejection of claims 18 and 19 is regretted.
Claim Objections
2. Claims 17 and 18 are objected to because of the following informalities:
On line 5 of claim 17, it appears that the comma before “NPN” should be deleted.
On line 4 of claim 18, it appears that the word “of” should be changed to
--according to-- in order to be consistent with what is recited on line 3 of this claim.
Appropriate correction is required.
Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 102
3. The following is a quotation of the appropriate paragraphs of 35 U.S.C. 102 that form the basis for the rejections under this section made in this Office action:
A person shall be entitled to a patent unless –
(a)(1) the claimed invention was patented, described in a printed publication, or in public use, on sale, or otherwise available to the public before the effective filing date of the claimed invention.
Claims 18 and 19 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 102(a)(1) as being anticipated by Sivonen et al, U.S. Patent Application Publication No. 2017/0070197.
As to claim 18, Sivonen et al discloses, in figures 2 and 3,
a radio receiver comprising:
an SE2D capacitive-feedback CMOS LNA (note that Sivonen et al indicates in paragraph [0076] that the single-ended-to-differential LNA shown in figure 3 of this reference can be implemented as an SE2D CMOS LNA, and note further that it includes capacitive-feedback, i.e., capacitors C1 and C2 are feedback capacitors because the currents flowing through transistors M3 and M4 because of the voltages at nodes 1 and 2 are fed back to the gate terminals of these two transistors via capacitors C2 and C2).
As to claim 19, note the disclosure in paragraph [0030] of Sivonen et al which indicates that the SE2D LNA shown in figure 3 of this reference is for use in the direct conversion radio receiver shown in figure 2 of this reference.
Allowable Subject Matter
4. Claims 1-17 are allowed.
The following is a statement of reasons for the indication of allowable subject matter: claims 1-17 are allowable for the reason indicated in paragraph six of the previous office action.
Action is Non-Final
5. In view of the above-noted new grounds of rejection not necessitated by applicant’s amendments, this office action is non-final.
