Office Action

§112
DETAILED ACTION Notice of Pre-AIA or AIA Status The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA . Specification The abstract of the disclosure is objected to because in the replacement abstract filed on 06/10/2026, lines 7-8, it seems that “The first terminal accommodating portion” should be -- The dielectric -- because it is the dielectric and not the first terminal accommodating portion that includes a body member and a cover member according to the present specification. A corrected abstract of the disclosure is required and must be presented on a separate sheet, apart from any other text. See MPEP § 608.01(b). The title of the invention is not descriptive. A new title is required that is clearly indicative of the invention to which the claims are directed. The following title is suggested: SHIELD CONNECTOR WITH A DIELECTRIC FOR ACCOMMODATING BENT SHAPED CONDUCTOR TERMINAL. The disclosure is objected to because of the following informalities: Paragraph [0031], line 9 and Paragraph [0032], line 6, it seems that “the large-size body member 32” should be -- the small-size body member 67 -- because Paragraphs [0030]-[0034] described Small-Size Terminal Module 65. Paragraph [0060], lines 1-2, “the large-size inner conductor 88 of the first embodiment” should be -- the large-size inner conductor 50 of the first embodiment --. Appropriate correction is required. Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 112 The following is a quotation of 35 U.S.C. 112(b): (b) CONCLUSION.—The specification shall conclude with one or more claims particularly pointing out and distinctly claiming the subject matter which the inventor or a joint inventor regards as the invention. The following is a quotation of 35 U.S.C. 112 (pre-AIA ), second paragraph: The specification shall conclude with one or more claims particularly pointing out and distinctly claiming the subject matter which the applicant regards as his invention. Claims 1-9 rejected under 35 U.S.C. 112(b) or 35 U.S.C. 112 (pre-AIA ), second paragraph, as being indefinite for failing to particularly point out and distinctly claim the subject matter which the inventor or a joint inventor (or for applications subject to pre-AIA 35 U.S.C. 112, the applicant), regards as the invention. Claim 1, lines 10-11 recite that the first terminal accommodating portion includes a body member and a cover member. However, the specification and the drawings disclose that dielectric 31 (large-size) includes a body portion 32 and a cover portion 33 (see Paragraph [0021], lines 4-5 and Figure 2); and the first terminal accommodating portion 46 includes the terminal receiving portion 34 and the lid portion 44 (see Paragraph [0025], lines 9-10 and Figure 2). Therefore, it is not clear and indefinite which element, between the first terminal accommodating portion 46 and the dielectric 31, really includes the body portion 32 and the cover portion 33. Allowable Subject Matter Claim 1 would be allowable if rewritten or amended to overcome the rejection(s) under 35 U.S.C. 112(b) or 35 U.S.C. 112 (pre-AIA ), 2nd paragraph, set forth in this Office action. Conclusion Any inquiry concerning this communication or earlier communications from the examiner should be directed to HAE MOON HYEON whose telephone number is (571) 272-2093.
