DETAILED ACTION
Notice of Pre-AIA or AIA Status
The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA .
Response to Amendment
Applicant’s response of 2/20/2026 is received. Claims 1-10, 15, 16, and 21 are amended and claims 1-16 and 21-24 are pending. This is a second non-final office action.
Claim Objections
Claim 1 is objected to because of the following informalities: the claim recites the outer abutment surface arranged to engage with a lateral side of the lens. However, the claim also recites the lens coupled to the visor by engagement with the abutment surface of the at least one add-on component. Therefore, the claim should be revised to recite the outer abutment surface engaged with a lateral side of the lens. Appropriate correction is required.
The text of those sections of Title 35, U.S. Code not included in this action can be found in a prior Office action.
Claims 15, 16, and 22 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 102a(1) as being anticipated by Grau (EP 1095577 A2). Grau discloses the invention as claimed. For claim 15, Grau teaches an injection moulded visor 1 comprising at least two protrusions 7 (Fig.2a) extending from a surface of the visor 1, said protrusions 7 being integrally formed with the visor 1, and wherein the at least two protrusions 7 are arranged to receive at least one add-on component 14, said add-on component 14 defining an abutment surface arranged to engage with a lateral side of a lens 2.
For claim 16, Grau teaches the protrusions 7 are provided at an edge-region of the visor 1.
For claim 22, Grau teaches an add-on component 2 arranged to receive a protrusion 12 of a visor 1, the add-on component 2 defining an abutment surface 14 extending at least partly around the periphery of the add-on component 2, said abutment surface 14 being arranged to engage with a lateral side of a lens 1 as lens 1 includes lateral sides.
Allowable Subject Matter
Claims 1-14 are allowed.
Claims 21, 23, and 24 are objected to as being dependent upon a rejected base claim, but would be allowable if rewritten in independent form including all of the limitations of the base claim and any intervening claims.
Response to Arguments
Applicant’s remarks have been considered and with regard to claims 1-14, are persuasive. For claims 15, 16, and 22, the claim rejections have been revised.
