DETAILED ACTION
Notice of Pre-AIA or AIA Status
The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA .
Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 102
The following is a quotation of the appropriate paragraphs of 35 U.S.C. 102 that form the basis for the rejections under this section made in this Office action:
A person shall be entitled to a patent unless –
(a)(1) the claimed invention was patented, described in a printed publication, or in public use, on sale, or otherwise available to the public before the effective filing date of the claimed invention.
Claim(s) 1 is/are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 102(a)(1) as being anticipated by Murata (JP05-308023A from PCT 237 of 6-12-24).
Murata discloses an electronic component 26 comprising: an insulator 22 including a pair of opposite major surfaces 26 and side surfaces 27,28; a first inductor 61,64,66 including at least one first conductor pattern 61 within the insulator 22; a capacitor 75 overlapping a portion of the at least one first conductor pattern 61 in the insulator when viewed in plan view from one of the major surfaces 26; a first outer electrode 62 electrically coupled to the first inductor 61; and a second outer electrode 76 electrically coupled to the capacitor 75, the second outer electrode including side portions 29,30 provided on specific opposite side surfaces among the side surfaces of the insulator 22; wherein the capacitor 75 includes: a first electrode pattern electrically coupled to the first inductor; and a second electrode pattern electrically coupled to the side portions of the second outer electrode with at least one wiring pattern (see Fig. 7); and the at least one wiring pattern 74, is parallel or substantially parallel to a portion of the at least one first conductor pattern 61.
Allowable Subject Matter
Claims 2-20 are objected to as being dependent upon a rejected base claim, but would be allowable if rewritten in independent form including all of the limitations of the base claim and any intervening claims.
The following is a statement of reasons for the indication of allowable subject matter: Claims 2-20 recite additional features, such as two wiring patterns arranged in a line with a specific coupling to the capacitor (claim 2), that have not been taught or been fairly suggested by the prior art of record.
