CTNF 18/742,591 CTNF 84829 Notice of Pre-AIA or AIA Status 07-03-aia AIA 15-10-aia The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA. DETAILED ACTION Claims 1-15 are pending in this application. Drawings The drawings received on 6/13/2024 are accepted for examination purposes. Priority 02-26 AIA Receipt is acknowledged of certified copies of papers required by 37 CFR 1.55. Information Disclosure Statement The information disclosure statement (IDS) submitted on 6/13/2024 is in compliance with the provisions of 37 CFR 1.97. Accordingly, the information disclosure statement is being considered by the examiner. Claim Objections 07-29-01 AIA Claim 13 is objected to because of the following informalities: Line 10 recites ‘the deliver destination device’ should recite ‘the delivery destination device’ . Appropriate correction is required. Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 102 07-06 AIA 15-10-15 In the event the determination of the status of the application as subject to AIA 35 U.S.C. 102 and 103 (or as subject to pre-AIA 35 U.S.C. 102 and 103) is incorrect, any correction of the statutory basis (i.e., changing from AIA to pre-AIA) for the rejection will not be considered a new ground of rejection if the prior art relied upon, and the rationale supporting the rejection, would be the same under either status. 07-07-aia AIA 07-07 The following is a quotation of the appropriate paragraphs of 35 U.S.C. 102 that form the basis for the rejections under this section made in this Office action: A person shall be entitled to a patent unless – 07-08-aia AIA (a)(1) the claimed invention was patented, described in a printed publication, or in public use, on sale, or otherwise available to the public before the effective filing date of the claimed invention. 07-15 AIA Claim (s) 15 is rejected under 35 U.S.C. 102( a)(1 ) as being anticipated by Messner et al. (US-2001/0043364) . As to Claim 15, Messner teaches ‘A terminal device comprising: a communication interface communicable with a delivery provision server configured to provide delivery information to a delivery destination device [Figs 1 (100, 150, 200, 310, 380), 5-8, par 0028-0030, 0060 – PC includes printing module that receives user profile information including user’s name, email address, delivery address, printer information, and areas of interest is transmitted to document server’s transmission module over network to be stored with distribution module of document server to transmit personalized publication to one or more requesting user’s corresponding printing device ]; a display [Fig 13, par 0031 – user interface of printing module provides a user profile screen ]; and a controller configured to perform: an acquisition process acquiring settings screen information for displaying a settings screen from the delivery provision server via the communication interface, the settings screen being used for configuring a setting for delivery of the delivery information; a display process displaying on the display the settings screen based on the settings screen information acquired in the acquisition process; and a reception process receiving an input of a user account for an external service through the settings screen displayed on the display in the display process, the delivery provision server being configured to provide specific delivery information to the delivery destination device, the specific delivery information being the delivery information satisfying a predetermined condition, the predetermined condition including a requirement that the delivery information be suited to user information corresponding to user identification information, the user identification information identifying a user and being used for the user logging in to the user account for the external service [Figs 1 (100, 150, 310, 380), 5-8, par 0028-0031, 0039, 0060, 0062, 0065, 0070 – receiving a user profile screen to be displayed for receiving user input on user interface, user profile information including a user’s name, email address, delivery address, printer information, areas of interest, a time a document should be printed as personalized publication and transmitted to document server where distribution module of document server mails a product such as a print consumable or other product to a user at the address specified in the user profile information and mails or electronically generates a coupon that the user can use to receive a free or discounted product to user’s corresponding printing device once document server determines a document has successfully printed ]’ . Allowable Subject Matter Claims 1-14 allowed over the prior art. 07-43-03 AIA As allowable subject matter has been indicated, applicant's reply must either comply with all formal requirements or specifically traverse each requirement not complied with. See 37 CFR 1.111(b) and MPEP § 707.07(a). 13-03-01 AIA The following is a statement of reasons for the indication of allowable subject matter: Messner in view of the prior art searched and/or cited including Bhatia et al. (US-9,158,482) that teaches determining a set of scheduled delivery print applications based on prior usage of SD print applications in a printer application store by a user of a web connected computing device, where the determined SD print applications are recommended for installation by sending a notification to the web connected computing device and to a web connected printer through an electronic messaging service and the recommended SD print applications are installed based on user's selection and user preferences; and Son (US-2006/0259600) that teaches delivery information related to each network printer is stored and forwarded to a respective printer through wide area network based on the print capability of respective printers, where the direct printing is carried out using the delivery information, does not teach nor render obvious the combination of limitations including: “An information delivery system comprising: a delivery destination device; and a delivery provision server comprising: a communication interface configured to receive delivery information from a delivery management server, the delivery management server being configured to manage the delivery information; a memory configured to store association information associating user identification information with delivery destination identification information, the delivery destination identification information identifying the delivery destination device as a delivery destination of the delivery information, the user identification information identifying a user and being used for the user logging in to a user account for an external service using a terminal device other than the delivery destination device; and a controller configured to perform: a request process transmitting a request for specific delivery information to the delivery management server via the communication interface, the specific delivery information being the delivery information satisfying a predetermined condition, the predetermined condition including a requirement that the delivery information be suited to user information corresponding to the user identification information which is associated with the delivery destination identification information by the association information stored in the memory; a first receiving process receiving, in response to the request transmitted in the request process, the specific delivery information from the delivery management server via the communication interface; and a delivery process transmitting an output instruction to the delivery destination device corresponding to the delivery destination identification information via the communication interface, the output instruction instructing the delivery destination device to perform output based on the specific delivery information”, as recited in independent claim 1; “A delivery provision server comprising: a communication interface configured to receive delivery information from a delivery management server, the delivery management server being configured to manage the delivery information; a memory configured to store association information associating user identification information with delivery destination identification information, the delivery destination identification information identifying a delivery destination device as a delivery destination of the delivery information, the user identification information identifying a user and being used for the user logging in to a user account for an external service using a terminal device other than the deliver destination device; and a controller configured to perform: a request process transmitting a request for specific delivery information to the delivery management server via the communication interface, the specific delivery information being the delivery information satisfying a predetermined condition, the predetermined condition including a requirement that the delivery information be suited to user information corresponding to the user identification information which is associated with the delivery destination identification information by the association information stored in the memory; a receiving process receiving, in response to the request transmitted in the request process, the specific delivery information from the delivery management server via the communication interface; and a delivery process transmitting an output instruction to the delivery destination device corresponding to the delivery destination identification information via the communication interface, the output instruction instructing the delivery destination device to perform output based on the specific delivery information”, as recited in independent claim 13; “A delivery provision server comprising: a memory; a communication interface configured to transmit delivery information to a delivery destination device; and a controller configured to perform: a transmission process transmitting settings screen information for displaying a settings screen to a terminal device other than the delivery destination device via the communication interface, the settings screen being used for configuring a setting for delivery of the delivery information; an association process storing, in response to an input of a user account for an external service being received through the settings screen displayed on the terminal device, association information associating user identification information corresponding to the user account with delivery destination identification information in the memory, the delivery destination identification information identifying the delivery destination device as a delivery destination of the delivery information, the user identification information identifying a user and being used for the user logging in to the user account for the external service using the terminal device; and a delivery process transmitting specific delivery information to the delivery destination device corresponding to the delivery destination identification information via the communication interface, the specific delivery information being the delivery information satisfying a predetermined condition, the predetermined condition including a requirement that the delivery information be suited to user information corresponding to the user identification information which is associated with the delivery destination identification information by the association information stored in the memory”, as recited in independent claim 14 .
