Notice of Pre-AIA or AIA Status
The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA .
DETAILED ACTION
This communication is responsive to the application filed on 06/29/2024.
Claims 1-10 are presented for examination.
Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 103
In the event the determination of the status of the application as subject to AIA 35 U.S.C. 102 and 103 (or as subject to pre-AIA 35 U.S.C. 102 and 103) is incorrect, any correction of the statutory basis (i.e., changing from AIA to pre-AIA ) for the rejection will not be considered a new ground of rejection if the prior art relied upon, and the rationale supporting the rejection, would be the same under either status.
The following is a quotation of 35 U.S.C. 103 which forms the basis for all obviousness rejections set forth in this Office action:
A patent for a claimed invention may not be obtained, notwithstanding that the claimed invention is not identically disclosed as set forth in section 102, if the differences between the claimed invention and the prior art are such that the claimed invention as a whole would have been obvious before the effective filing date of the claimed invention to a person having ordinary skill in the art to which the claimed invention pertains. Patentability should not be negated by the manner in which the invention was made.
The text of those sections of Title 35, U.S. Code not included in this action can be found in a prior Office action.
Claims 1-2 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 103 as being unpatentable over Jia et al. “US 11,146,063 B1” (Jia) in view of Hao “CN114597876A” (Hao).
Regarding Claims 1 and 10: A line protection method for wind farm connected to flexible DC system comprising:
obtaining high frequency components of voltage and current at protection installations on both sides of a transmission line, when a fault of the transmission line of a direct drive wind field connected to flexible DC system is monitored (at least see Jia Abstract; Figs. 1; and 4; 5:1-10).
obtaining 1-mode transient action impedance difference of the transmission line, based on the high-frequency components of voltage and current at the protection installations on both sides of the transmission line (at least see Jia Abstract; Fig. 2; 1:17-20 and 6:10-67).
determining whether the fault inside the area of the transmission line occurs, based on the 1-mode transient action impedance difference and fault identification criterion of the transmission line. and starting the protection action of the transmission line if it is determined that the fault inside the area of the transmission line occurs (at least see Jia Abstract; Figs. 2; and 4-6; 5:11-64).
Jia disclose the claimed invention but fails to teach explicitly 1-Mode.However, Hao disclose this (at least see Hao Abstract; “in the formula, ub (1) (k) is the k-th sampling time corresponding to the 1-mode voltage anti-travelling wave, u ' b (1) (k) is the first derivative of the 1-mode voltage anti-travelling wave obtained by the k-th calculation, u " b (1) (k) is the second derivative of the 1-mode voltage anti-travelling wave obtained by the k-th calculation, the TS is the sampling interval”).
It would have been obvious to one having ordinary skill in the art at the time the invention was made (Pre-AIA ) or before the effective filing date of the claimed invention (AIA FITF) to use Hao’s teachings in Jia’s enabled, for the advantage of integration of renewable energy sources to ensure the safe and stable operation of renewable power system.
Regarding Claim 2: The line protection method for wind farm connected to flexible DC system according to claim 1, wherein the 1-mode transient action impedance difference of the transmission line is obtained by the following way: obtaining the 1-mode high-frequency components of the voltage and current at the protection installations on both sides of the transmission line for each of sampling points, based on the high-frequency components of the voltage and current at the protection installations on both sides of the transmission line for each of the sampling points; obtaining the 1-mode action impedance of the transmission line for each of the sampling points, based on the 1-mode high-frequency components of the voltage and current at the protection installations on both sides of the transmission line for each of the sampling points; obtaining the 1-mode transient action impedance difference of the transmission line, based on the 1-mode action impedance of the transmission line of all the sampling points in a sampling period after fault (at least see Jia Abstract; 2:3-54).
Allowable Subject Matter
Claims 3-9 objected to as being dependent upon a rejected base claim but would be allowable if rewritten in independent form including all of the limitations of the base claim and any intervening claims.
Relevant Prior Art
The prior art made of record and not relied upon, which is considered pertinent to applicant's disclosure, are cited in the Notice of Reference Cited form (PT0-892).
