Office Action

§102
DETAILED ACTION Notice of Pre-AIA or AIA Status The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA . Claim Objections Claims 3, 8, 13, and 18 are objected to because of the following informalities: Claim 3, line 3, it is suggested to replace “a first a first codebook configuration” with “a first codebook configuration”. Claim 8, line 3, it is suggested to replace “a first a first codebook configuration” with “a first codebook configuration”. Claim 13, line 3, it is suggested to replace “a first a first codebook configuration” with “a first codebook configuration”. Claim 18, line 3, it is suggested to replace “a first a first codebook configuration” with “a first codebook configuration”. Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 102 The following is a quotation of the appropriate paragraphs of 35 U.S.C. 102 that form the basis for the rejections under this section made in this Office action: A person shall be entitled to a patent unless – (a)(2) the claimed invention was described in a patent issued under section 151, or in an application for patent published or deemed published under section 122(b), in which the patent or application, as the case may be, names another inventor and was effectively filed before the effective filing date of the claimed invention. Claims 1, 6, 11, and 16 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 102(a)(2) as being anticipated by Lin (2026/0213812). Regarding claims 1 and 11, Lin discloses a user equipment (UR) and a method performed by the UE in a communication system, (see figure 2) the method comprising: receiving, from a base station via higher layer signaling, one or more configurations (see base station 202 configures CSI reporting by UE 204 by transmitting one or more CSI configuration signals 206 that include one or more parameters by which UE 204 is to report measured and/or predicted CSI values in paragraph 0084); identifying a first CSI report for prediction (predicted CSI report in figure 2) and a second CSI report (see measured CSI report in figure 2) for monitoring based on the one or more configurations (see paragraph 0082); and transmitting, to the base station, the first CSI report for prediction and the second CSI report for monitoring (see UE 204 transmits a combination of predicted CSI report 210 and/or measured CSI report 212 in paragraph 0084. Note that the measured CSI report can be used for monitoring purposes). Regarding claims 6 and 16, claims 6 and 16 claimed a base station and a method performed by the BS that is in communication with the UE claimed in claims 1 and 11. Claims 6 and 16 are, therefore, subject to the same rejection. Allowable Subject Matter Claims 2-5, 7-10, 12-15, and 17-20 are objected to as being dependent upon a rejected base claim, but would be allowable if rewritten in independent form including all of the limitations of the base claim and any intervening claims.
