1. The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA .
Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 101
2. 35 U.S.C. 101 reads as follows:
Whoever invents or discovers any new and useful process, machine, manufacture, or composition of matter, or any new and useful improvement thereof, may obtain a patent therefor, subject to the conditions and requirements of this title.
3. Claim 21 is rejected under 35 U.S.C. 101 because the claimed invention is directed to non-statutory subject matter. The claim does not fall within at least one of the four categories of patent eligible subject matter because it is direct to a display driver which is a computer program. Drivers are software programs and the Specification does not indicate otherwise.
Allowable Subject Matter
5. Claims 1-22 are allowed over cited references.
6. The following is an examiner’s statement of reasons for allowance: Claim 1 recites the limitation and controlling the pixel units in each sub-display-area for image display based on the priority, comprising: controlling, for a sub-display-area with a highest priority in the at least two sub-display-areas, the pixel units for image display based on the to-be-displayed data; controlling, for a sub-display-area with a non-highest priority in the at least two sub-display-areas, at least part of the pixel units for image display based on corrected display data which is neither disclosed nor suggested by the cited references, either singly or in combination.
7. Claims 21 and 22 recite limitations similar to those of claim 1 and are allowed as well.
