DETAILED ACTION
Response to Amendment
Claims 1-8 are pending. Claims 1-5 are amended directly or by dependency on an amended claim. Claims 6-8 are new.
Response to Arguments
Applicant’s arguments, see pages 8-13, filed 7 August, 2026, with respect to the 35 USC 101 rejections of claims 1-5, and pages 13-17 with respect to the 35 USC 103 rejections of claims 1-5, along with accompanying amendments received on the same date, have been fully considered and are persuasive. The 35 USC 101 rejections of claims 1-5 and 35 USC 103 rejections of claims 1-5 have been withdrawn. However, upon further consideration, a new ground(s) of rejection is made in view of 35 USC 112a. It is noted the claims in their current form do appear to overcome the prior art but lack sufficient support for aspects of the claim language.
Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 112
The following is a quotation of the first paragraph of 35 U.S.C. 112(a):
(a) IN GENERAL.—The specification shall contain a written description of the invention, and of the manner and process of making and using it, in such full, clear, concise, and exact terms as to enable any person skilled in the art to which it pertains, or with which it is most nearly connected, to make and use the same, and shall set forth the best mode contemplated by the inventor or joint inventor of carrying out the invention.
The following is a quotation of the first paragraph of pre-AIA 35 U.S.C. 112:
The specification shall contain a written description of the invention, and of the manner and process of making and using it, in such full, clear, concise, and exact terms as to enable any person skilled in the art to which it pertains, or with which it is most nearly connected, to make and use the same, and shall set forth the best mode contemplated by the inventor of carrying out his invention.
Claims 1, 5 (and by dependency claims 2-4, 6-8) are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 112(a) or 35 U.S.C. 112 (pre-AIA ), first paragraph, as failing to comply with the written description requirement. The claim(s) contains subject matter which was not described in the specification in such a way as to reasonably convey to one skilled in the relevant art that the inventor or a joint inventor, or for applications subject to pre-AIA 35 U.S.C. 112, the inventor(s), at the time the application was filed, had possession of the claimed invention. The term “wherein other images from among the plurality of images of the target spot are excluded from the spot selection screen” does not have anything that can be fairly construed as support in the spot selection screen portions of the specification.
Conclusion
The prior art made of record and not relied upon is considered pertinent to applicant's disclosure. US 20140351064 A1 (1. A method comprising: generating a plurality of thumbnail images corresponding to a plurality of street view images, wherein each of the plurality of street view images were captured concurrently at a single geographical location and taken from a different one of a plurality of direction angles; identifying one or more of the plurality of street view images that depict at least one point of interest based upon one or more point of interest preferences; and generating one or more point of interest indicators that indicate which of the plurality of thumbnail images correspond to the identified one or more street view images); US 20230247279 A1 (1. An imaging apparatus comprising: a processor, wherein, in a mode in which focus adjustment is performed, the processor performs processing of extracting a plurality of subjects from moving image data obtained by imaging, outputs first moving image data in which a region including a specific subject among the plurality of subjects is magnified to a display destination, and outputs, in a case in which a change has occurred in any of the plurality of subjects in the moving image data, second moving image data in which a region of each of the plurality of subjects is magnified to the display destination instead of the first moving image data, and then outputs, in a case in which an instruction to select the subject is given, third moving image data in which a region including the selected subject is magnified to the display destination instead of the second moving image data); “InCarAR: A Design Space Towards 3D Augmented Reality Applications in Vehicles”:
