DETAILED ACTION
Notice of Pre-AIA or AIA Status
The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA .
Information Disclosure Statement
As required by M.P.E.P. 609(c), the Applicant's submissions of the Information Disclosure Statement is acknowledged by the examiner and the cited references have been considered in the examination of the claims now pending. As required by M.P.E.P. 609 C(2), a copy of the PTOL-1449 initialed and dated by the examiner is attached to the instant office action.
Applicant’s Information Disclosure Statement has been received, entered into the record, and considered. See attached form PTO-1449.
Claims 1-15 are currently pending.
Claim Objections
Claims 1 and 11 are objected to because of the following informalities: the phrase, “N2 massage” should be changed to “N2 message”. All claims should be reviewed for misspelled words.
Appropriate correction is required.
Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 112
The following is a quotation of 35 U.S.C. 112(b):
(b) CONCLUSION.—The specification shall conclude with one or more claims particularly pointing out and distinctly claiming the subject matter which the inventor or a joint inventor regards as the invention.
The following is a quotation of 35 U.S.C. 112 (pre-AIA ), second paragraph:
The specification shall conclude with one or more claims particularly pointing out and distinctly claiming the subject matter which the applicant regards as his invention.
Claims 1-15 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 112(b) or 35 U.S.C. 112 (pre-AIA ), second paragraph, as being indefinite for failing to particularly point out and distinctly claim the subject matter which the inventor or a joint inventor (or for applications subject to pre-AIA 35 U.S.C. 112, the applicant), regards as the invention.
Examiner is unclear as to what the Applicant means by the claimed, “N2 message” and “N2 massage”.
Appropriate explanation, correction and clarification is required.
Allowable Subject Matter
Claims 1-15 would be allowable if rewritten and/or amending to remedy the 112 rejection and Claim objection presented in this office action.
The following is a statement of reasons for the indication of allowable subject matter:
In regards to Independent Claims 1 and 11, BRI (broadest reasonable interpretation) in light of the specification, Examiner finds the claimed invention is patentably distinct from the prior art of record, which sets forth in the following:
Han et al., (US Patent Publication No. 20210314868 A1), the closes prior made of record relates to communication technique of integrating a 5th generation (5G) or pre-5G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate after a 4th generation (4G) communication system such as long term evolution (LTE) with an IoT technology, and a system applied to an intelligent service (for example, a smart home, a smart building, a smart city, a smart car, or a connected car, health care, digital education, retails, security and a safety related service, and the like) based on the 5G communication technology and the IoT related technology. The device optimizes mobile initiated communication only (MICO) mode related parameter values for reducing power consumption of a terminal in a mobile communication system.
.
However, Han fails to show “an access mobility and management function (AMF) node in a wireless communication system from a radio access network (RAN) node, an N2 message including a request to register a user equipment (UE) and information on a satellite used by the UE; receiving, from a network data analytics function (NWDAF) node, information on mobility of the UE; based on the N2 message and the information on the mobility of the UE, determining a periodic registration update timer value; and transmitting, to the UE, the periodic registration update timer value” … as claimed (supports in the specification, Para [0036]; [0044]; [0046]; [0052], for example).
Pertinent Prior Art
The prior art made of record and not relied upon is considered pertinent to applicant's disclosure.
Han et al., (US Patent Publication No. 20210314868 A1), “EFFICIENT MICO MODE MANAGEMENT METHOD UTILIZING NETWORK ANALYSIS INFORMATION IN 5G MOBILE NETWORK SYSTEM” (October 7, 2021) discloses communication technique of integrating a 5th generation (5G) or pre-5G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate after a 4th generation (4G) communication system such as long term evolution (LTE) with an IoT technology, and a system applied to an intelligent service (for example, a smart home, a smart building, a smart city, a smart car, or a connected car, health care, digital education, retails, security and a safety related service, and the like) based on the 5G communication technology and the IoT related technology. The device optimizes mobile initiated communication only (MICO) mode related parameter values for reducing power consumption of a terminal in a mobile communication system.
