Office Action

§103
DETAILED ACTION Status of Claims In response to applicant’s amendment filed 8/19/2024, claims 1-12 are pending in this application. Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 103 The following is a quotation of 35 U.S.C. 103 which forms the basis for all obviousness rejections set forth in this Office action: A patent for a claimed invention may not be obtained, notwithstanding that the claimed invention is not identically disclosed as set forth in section 102, if the differences between the claimed invention and the prior art are such that the claimed invention as a whole would have been obvious before the effective filing date of the claimed invention to a person having ordinary skill in the art to which the claimed invention pertains. Patentability shall not be negated by the manner in which the invention was made. Claims 1-4 and 11-12 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 103 as being unpatentable over Keller et al. (US 2020/0365055) in view of Rogers et al. (US 2022/0327685). Regarding claims 1-5 and 11-12, Keller discloses a braille information block for route navigation. See paragraph 0005. Keller does not disclose utilizing a camera and a QR code. However, Keller discloses in paragraph 0097, QR code printed stickers (claim 3), that can be placed as desired, such as in claim 2, and is interacted with by use of a camera and a processor carried by the user, and provides various guidance as per claim 4. It would have been obvious to one of ordinary skill in the art at the time of applicant’s filing, to consider such with the Keller system, in order to provide various useful information. Claims 6-10 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 103 as being unpatentable over Keller et al. (US 2020/0365055) in view of Rogers et al. (US 2022/0327685) and also Sujan et al. (US 2016/0075333). Regarding claims 6-10, Keller discloses next movement guidance, including entry direction (e.g. arrows as described in paragraph 0005). Note the guidance blocks are placed in sequence to define a route. See paragraphs 0002-0003. Inputs for retrieving customized information (claims 9-10) would be obvious as described above with the QR codes of Rogers. However, it is not disclosed wherein the system performs route analysis to provide route guidance, or GPS (as per claim 7), or comparison to recommended route to the taken route (claim 8). However, comparison and analysis of alternative routes is established with regard to navigation systems, as is disclosed by the system of Sujan in paragraph 0038. It would have been obvious to one of ordinary skill n the art at the time of applicant’s filing, to consider this with the Keller system, in order to provide guidance to the user.
