Claim Objections
4. Claims 1-20 are objected to because of the following informalities:
Claims 1 and 16 discloses , receiving, from a second device, a first report configuration for configuring to perform reporting of first channel state information (CSI)… This statement is considered to be vague. The first and second device can be considered to many types of devices such as a UE to a base station or UE to UE. However to further clarify the specification explains The IAB node (or IAB-DU and IAB-MT) may report information on the one or more simultaneous operation schemes supported by the IAB node to an upper node of the IAB node. Alternatively, the IAB node (or IAB-DU and IAB-MT) may report information on one or more combinations of a
plurality of simultaneous operation schemes supported by the IAB node to an upper
node of the IAB node. (see pages 76-77).
Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 103
5. The following is a quotation of 35 U.S.C. 103 which forms the basis for all obviousness rejections set forth in this Office action:
(a) A patent may not be obtained through the invention is not identically disclosed or described as set forth in section 102 of this title, if the differences between the subject matter sought to be patented and the prior art are such that the subject matter as a whole would have been obvious at the time the invention was made to a person having ordinary skill in the art to which said subject matter pertains. Patentability shall not be negatived by the manner in which the invention was made.
The factual inquiries set forth in Graham v. John Deere Co., 383 U.S. 1, 148 USPQ 459 (1966), that are applied for establishing a background for determining obviousness under 35 U.S.C. 103 are summarized as follows:
1. Determining the scope and contents of the prior art.
2. Ascertaining the differences between the prior art and the claims at issue.
3. Resolving the level of ordinary skill in the pertinent art.
4. Considering objective evidence present in the application indicating obviousness or nonobviousness.
6. Claims 1-20 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. §103 as being unpatentable over You (WO2021162452A1) in view of LIU (WO2021/244540A1) in further view of NPL-3GPP TSG-RAN WG2 Meeting #116bis electronic R2-2201353

receiving, from a second device, a first report configuration; (see You Fig. 26 paragraph [0223] explains…. Referring to FIG. 26 , the IAB node receives first configuration information for configuring resources for the operation of the MT ( S261 ). For example, the MT may be provided with a slot format for at least one slot. The slot format includes a downlink symbol, an uplink symbol, and a flexible symbol. In addition, the MT may also receive a DCI format (DCI format 2_5) indicating whether or not a resource set as a soft resource for the DU is available to the DU. The MT may separately receive information indicating the slot format and the DCI format. The MT may receive the first configuration information according to a combination of a higher layer signal, a physical layer signal, and a higher layer signal and a physical layer signal. For example, the slot format is received through a higher layer signal (including a method of receiving a list of slot formats through an upper layer signal and receiving a DCI format that is a physical layer signal indicating any one slot format from the list) and DCI indicating the availability of soft resources may be received through a physical layer signal…..)
receiving, from the second device for configuring one or more multiplexing modes to the first device; (see Fig.26 You paragraphs [0219], [0224]-[00226] …. The IAB node determines a multiplexing type to be applied to the specific resource according to the type of the first signal to be communicated by the MT in the specific resource and the type of the second signal to be communicated by the DU in the specific resource (S264)…)

The first configuration information includes at least one of information indicating the slot format and the DCI format. The MT may separately receive information indicating the slot format and the DCI format. The MT may receive the first configuration information according to a combination of a higher layer signal, a physical layer signal, and a higher layer signal and a physical layer signal.
