Office Action

§101
DETAILED ACTION Notice of Pre-AIA or AIA Status The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA . Claims 1-10 are pending. Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 101 35 U.S.C. 101 reads as follows: Whoever invents or discovers any new and useful process, machine, manufacture, or composition of matter, or any new and useful improvement thereof, may obtain a patent therefor, subject to the conditions and requirements of this title. Claim 10 is rejected under 35 U.S.C. 101 because the claimed invention is directed to non-statutory subject matter. The claim(s) does/do not fall within at least one of the four categories of patent eligible subject matter. Claim 10 recites “a computer-readable storage medium.” Applicant defines the claimed medium with open-ended language (i.e., “such as”, “but is not limited to” and “any other medium”) in the specification. Since applicant fails to specifically limit which forms the claimed medium make take, under the broadest reasonable interpretation, “computer-readable medium” would cover non-statutory embodiments such as carrier signal, radio wave and transmission media. Applicant is encouraged to replace “a computer-readable medium” with – a non-transitory computer-readable medium--. Allowable Subject Matter Claims 1-9 are allowed. The following is an examiner’s statement of reasons for allowance: Wong et al, US 20120005691 A1, teaches a system and a method for device having a first and a second operating system communicatively coupled with each other. The first operating system is configured to manage a state of the mobile computing device, resources operable with the mobile computing device, and data management for the mobile computing device. The second operating system is a desktop-type operating system. In one embodiment, in response to coupling a docking station, the mobile computing device is configured to provide the second operating system access to peripherals. In addition, another embodiment the first operating system is configured to include an interface to access and execute applications executable through the second operating system. Zhang et al., US 20150277934 A1, teaches embodiments related to dual boot mobile phone devices. In one example, a mobile phone device comprises one or more non-volatile storage devices including a first partition storing a first operating system, a second partition storing first user data of the first operating system and second user data of a second operating system, and a third partition storing the second operating system. The mobile phone device further comprises a dual boot selection module configured to recognize user selection of the second operating system, and a dual boot allocation module configured to, responsive to user selection of the second operating system, automatically merge the first and second partitions into a merged partition, and automatically store the user data of the second operating system on the merged partition. The prior art of record does not teach or suggest individually or combination “controlling the first system to enter a desktop in response to both a reception of a display initialization completion message of the second system and a satisfaction of a received service subsystem registration completion message of the second system with a service subsystem registration requirement in a preset whitelist” in combination with other limitations recited in claim 1. Any comments considered necessary by applicant must be submitted no later than the payment of the issue fee and, to avoid processing delays, should preferably accompany the issue fee. Such submissions should be clearly labeled “Comments on Statement of Reasons for Allowance.” Conclusion Any inquiry concerning this communication or earlier communications from the examiner should be directed to XUXING CHEN whose telephone number is (571)270-3486. The examiner can normally be reached M-F 9-5:30PM. Examiner interviews are available via telephone, in-person, and video conferencing using a USPTO supplied web-based collaboration tool.
