DETAILED ACTION
Notice of Pre-AIA or AIA Status
The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA .
Applicant’s preliminary amendment filed 9/23/2024 is acknowledged.
Claims 1 and 4 are amended.
Claims 2,3, and 5 are cancelled.
Claim 6 is new.
Claims 1,4, and 6 are pending.
Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 102
In the event the determination of the status of the application as subject to AIA 35 U.S.C. 102 and 103 (or as subject to pre-AIA 35 U.S.C. 102 and 103) is incorrect, any correction of the statutory basis (i.e., changing from AIA to pre-AIA ) for the rejection will not be considered a new ground of rejection if the prior art relied upon, and the rationale supporting the rejection, would be the same under either status.
The following is a quotation of the appropriate paragraphs of 35 U.S.C. 102 that form the basis for the rejections under this section made in this Office action:
A person shall be entitled to a patent unless –
(a)(2) the claimed invention was described in a patent issued under section 151, or in an application for patent published or deemed published under section 122(b), in which the patent or application, as the case may be, names another inventor and was effectively filed before the effective filing date of the claimed invention.
Claim(s) 1,4, and 6 is/are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 102(a)(2) as being anticipated by Wang (US 20240259158).
Re claim 1:
Wang discloses a terminal apparatus comprising: transmission circuitry configured to transmit Sounding Reference Signal (SRS) in an SRS resource (Fig.8 shows circuitry and Fig.2C ref. SRI – Examiner Note SRI is SRS Resource Indicator), wherein
an nth SRS sequence is generated for the SRS resource, the nth SRS sequence is determined based on at least an nth cyclic shift (Para.[0019] When generating an SRS sequence, different cyclic shift (CS) could be applied),
the nth cyclic shift is provided for an nth antenna port, the nth cyclic shift is determined based on at least a maximum number of cyclic shifts for the SRS resource (Para.[0019] For antenna port p.sub.i (p.sub.i=1000+i, i=0, . . . , N.sub.ap.sup.SRS−1), the cyclic shift α.sub.i is given by:

[0020] where n.sub.SR.sup.SCS∈{0,1, . . . , n.sub.SRS.sup.CS,max−1} and is configured by RRC parameter transmissionComb (e.g., cyclicShift-n2 or cyclicShift-n4), and the maximum number of cyclic shifts n.sub.SRS.sup.CS,max is given by Table 1),
the n is an integer from 1 to 4, and in a case that the maximum number of cyclic shifts is 6, a first cyclic shift, a second cyclic shift, a third cyclic shift, and a fourth cyclic shift are identical to each other (Table 4 shows 4 ports P0-P3 with the same cyclic shift and Para.[0047] In another embodiment, for 8-port SRS with Comb-4 (K.sub.TC=4), when the SRS sequence length is 6, the maximum number of cyclic shifts should be 6 (n.sub.SRS.sup.CS,max=6) and Para.[0048] In one example, four comb offsets are used for 8-port SRS. For example, comb offset k_TC, (k_TC+1)mod 4, (k_TC+2)mod 4, and (k_TC+3)mod 4. 2-ports are mapped to each comb offset. Over the same comb offset, different cyclic shift is used for different port (e.g., 2 different cyclic shifts are used over the same comb offset)).
Re claim 4: Claim 4 is rejected on the same grounds of rejection set forth in claim 1 from the perspective of the base station.
Re claim 6: Claim 6 is rejected on the same grounds of rejection set forth in claim 1.
Conclusion
The prior art made of record and not relied upon is considered pertinent to applicant's disclosure. Liu (US 20250184199) shows an SRS sequence based on a maximum of 6 cyclic shifts.
