Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 102
The following is a quotation of the appropriate paragraphs of 35 U.S.C. 102 that form the basis for the rejections under this section made in this Office action:
A person shall be entitled to a patent unless –
(a)(2) the claimed invention was described in a patent issued under section 151, or in an application for patent published or deemed published under section 122(b), in which the patent or application, as the case may be, names another inventor and was effectively filed before the effective filing date of the claimed invention.
Claim(s) 1, 4 and 5 is/are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 102(a)(2) as being anticipated by Matsumura et al. (“Matsu”) (WO 2020/121497).
In regards to claim 1, Matsu teaches a terminal apparatus comprising:
transmission circuitry configured to transmit a first random access preamble in first random access and transmit a second random access preamble in second random access (See ¶0040 and 0141 wherein the random access preamble is taught as part of the PRACH process in order to establish a connection with a cell, which is taken in consideration of ¶0009, 0021-0022, 0030-0032, which describes that timing advances are applied to multiple transmissions and reception points, and even then each transmission and reception point may be based on a first offset for timing as well as a second offset, including those for PRACH, note that there includes multiple TRPs); and
reception circuitry configured to receive a first TA command applied to a serving cell in the first random access and receive a second TA command applied to the serving cell in the second random access (See ¶0012 wherein the term for a cell may be used interchangeably with other terms, this is taken in view of ¶0038-0040 and 0049 with regards to TA commands to be applied, which is taken in consideration of ¶0009, 0021-0022, 0030-0032, which describes that timing advances are applied to multiple transmissions and reception points, and even then each transmission and reception point may be based on a first offset for timing as well as a second offset),
wherein a first uplink timing is adjusted in response to a reception of the first TA command, a second uplink timing is adjusted in response to a reception of the second TA command (See ¶0015, 0020 and 0037-0040 wherein the UE controls uplink timing based on a TA command), and
one of the first uplink timing and the second uplink timing is associated with an uplink transmission based on a pool of a TCI state (See ¶0236 wherein TCI state may be used interchangeably with various other terms, this is taken in view of ¶0004, 0007, and 0009).
In regards to claim 4, the claim is rejected under the same basis as claim 1 by Matsu.
In regards to claim 5, the claim is rejected under the same basis as claim 1 by Matsu.
