Notice of Pre-AIA or AIA Status
The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA .
DETAILED ACTION
Claim Objections
1. Claims 1, 3 & 4 are objected to because of the following informalities:
a. Per claim 1, change all instances of “electrical cabinet” to electrical connection cabinet--.
b. Per claim 1, change all instances of “supply and control” to –supply electrical power and control to--.
c. Per claim 1, change all instances of “supply” to –supply of electrical power--.
d. Claim 1, discloses electromechanical units, each electromechanical unit, the electromechanical unit and at least one electromechanical unit. Please correct “each electromechanical unit” to –each electromechanical unit of the electromechanical units-, “the electromechanical unit” to –the electromechanical units--, and “at least one electromechanical unit” to—at least one electromechanical unit of the electromechanical units--.
e. Claim 1, discloses electronic units, each electronic unit, at least two electronic units and the electronic unit. Please correct “each electronic unit” to –each electronic unit of the electronic units--, “the electronic unit” to –the electronic units--, and “at least one electronic unit” to—at least one electronic unit of the electronic units--.
f. Claim 3, line 2, change “carries the electrical input” to –carries electrical input--.
g. Claim 3, line 2, change “each control unit” to –each control unit of the plurality of control units--.
h. Claim 4, line 2, change “second functional area” to –second functional zone--.
Appropriate correction is required.
Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 112
2. The following is a quotation of 35 U.S.C. 112(b):
(b) CONCLUSION.—The specification shall conclude with one or more claims particularly pointing out and distinctly claiming the subject matter which the inventor or a joint inventor regards as the invention.
The following is a quotation of 35 U.S.C. 112 (pre-AIA ), second paragraph:
The specification shall conclude with one or more claims particularly pointing out and distinctly claiming the subject matter which the applicant regards as his invention.
Claims 1-10 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 112(b) or 35 U.S.C. 112 (pre-AIA ), second paragraph, as being indefinite for failing to particularly point out and distinctly claim the subject matter which the inventor or a joint inventor, or for pre-AIA the applicant regards as the invention.
Per claim 1 it is not clear what “supply” is referring to, for examining purposes examiner asserts that supply means a supply of electrical power.
Claims 2-10 are equally rejected because of their dependency to claim 1.
Claim 3 recites the limitation "the control unit" in line 3 & 5. There is insufficient antecedent basis for this limitation in the claim.
Claim 10 lines 5-20 is confusing. The “if” statement and limitations following the if statement makes the claim indefinite for not positively claiming the subject matter the inventor regards as the invention.
It is also not clear what “if applicable” means in line 14 of claim 10.
Allowable Subject matter
3. Claims 1-10 would be allowable if rewritten or amended to overcome the rejection(s) under 35 U.S.C. 112(b) or 35 U.S.C. 112 (pre-AIA ), 2nd paragraph, set forth in this Office action.
Claim 1, includes allowable subject matter because of an electrical connection cabinet, the electrical cabinet being configured to supply and control at least two electrical loads, wherein: the electrical cabinet comprises a plurality of control units, selected from among: electromechanical units, each electromechanical unit being configured to supply and control an electrical load, and comprising an electronic analysis device, a controlled switch configured to allow or interrupt the supply to the electrical load, and a magnetic type protection device configured to protect the electromechanical unit and the electrical load against electrical faults, and electronic units, each electronic unit being configured to supply and control an electrical load, and comprising an electronic analysis device a controlled switch configured to allow or interrupt the supply to the electrical load and being devoid of a magnetic type protection device, the electrical cabinet comprises at least two functional zones, from among which: a first functional zone accommodates at least one electromechanical unit, and a second functional zone accommodates at least two electronic units, and a common protection device configured to protect all the electronic units in the second functional zone and the electrical loads connected to them against electrical faults, the common protection device being separate from the electronic units, the first functional zone is, in addition, adapted to accommodate at least two electronic units and a common protection device, and the second functional zone is, in addition, adapted to accommodate at least one electromechanical unit.
Claims 2-10 depends on claim 1 therefore allowable for the same reason.
Email Communication
4. Applicant is encouraged to authorize the Examiner to communicate via email by filing form PTO/SB/439 either via USPS, Central Fax, or EFS-Web. See MPEP 502.01, 502, 502.05.
Conclusion
5. The prior art made of record and not relied upon is considered pertinent to applicant's disclosure.
Emert et al. US2015/0036266 discloses a modular power skid assembled with different electrical cabinets and components mounted on the skid.
Comtois et al. US2018/0166243 discloses an electrical apparatus for disconnecting an electrical current.
Applicants are directed to consider additional pertinent prior are included on the Notice of References Cited (PTOL 892) attached herewith.
