DETAILED ACTION
Notice of Pre-AIA or AIA Status
The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA .
Allowable Subject Matter
Claim(s) 13-20, 22 are allowed.
The following is a statement of reasons for the indication of allowable subject matter: none of the prior art render obvious the specific as aspect as whole related to the method further comprising: determining a first set of parameters of the first filter based on the target response and the first and second complex polar frequency responses; and determining a second set of parameters of the second filter based on the target response and the first and second complex polar frequency responses.
Claim(s) 2-4, 6-8 are objected to as being dependent upon a rejected base claim but would be allowable if rewritten in independent form including all the limitations of the base claim and any intervening claims.
Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 103
The following is a quotation of 35 U.S.C. 103 which forms the basis for all obviousness rejections set forth in this Office action:
A patent for a claimed invention may not be obtained, notwithstanding that the claimed invention is not identically disclosed as set forth in section 102, if the differences between the claimed invention and the prior art are such that the claimed invention as a whole would have been obvious before the effective filing date of the claimed invention to a person having ordinary skill in the art to which the claimed invention pertains. Patentability shall not be negated by the manner in which the invention was made.
Claim(s) 1, 5, 9-11 is/are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 103 as being unpatentable over Huo (US 2024/0196123 A1) and Yoshioka et al. (US 2023/0412979 A1).
Claim 1, the prior art as in Hamadate disclose of a display device comprising: a first surface that supports a display (fig.2 (11); par [93]); a second surface disposed opposite to the first surface; and a first speaker module supported by the second surface (fig.2 (11 w (31-32); par [103]) , the first speaker module including: a first speaker arranged to emit sound energy in a first direction relative to the display device; a second speaker arranged to emit sound energy in a second direction relative to the display device, the second direction being different than the first direction (fig.3 (31-32); par [103]).
But, Hamadate lacked of the specific aspect related to wherein the first speaker module comprises digital filters in a digital signal processor, wherein the digital filters are configured to define a target response of a combined output of the first and second speakers such that a beamformed acoustic summation of the sound energy emitted by the first speaker and the sound energy emitted by the second speaker is generally formed in a target direction away from the first surface of the display device towards a viewer of the display device, the target direction being different than the first and second directions.
But, overall Yoshioka et al. disclose of a certain module comprises digital filters in a digital signal processor, wherein the digital filters are configured to define a target response of a combined output of the first and second speakers such that a beamformed acoustic summation of the sound energy emitted by the first speaker and the sound energy emitted by the second speaker is generally formed in a target direction away from the first surface of the display device towards a viewer of the display device, the target direction being different than the first and second directions (fig.16; fig.18; par [142, 249-261]). Thus, one of the ordinary skills in the art could have modified the prior art with speaker module by adding thereto such specific module comprises digital filters in a digital signal processor, wherein the digital filters are configured to define a target response of a combined output of the first and second speakers such that a beamformed acoustic summation of the sound energy emitted by the first speaker and the sound energy emitted by the second speaker is generally formed in a target direction away from the first surface of the display device towards a viewer of the display device, the target direction being different than the first and second directions so as to control the directivity to desired position as desired.
Claim 5, The display device according to claim 1, but none of the prior art specify as wherein the first speaker includes a plurality of first speakers; and wherein the second speaker includes a plurality of second speakers.
But, one of the ordinary skills in the art could have modified the mentioned first speaker and second speaker by reconfigured such mentioned first speaker and second speaker to having first speaker includes a plurality of first speakers; and wherein the second speaker includes a plurality of second speakers for achieving the predictable result as to enhanced the resulting output accordingly.
(Currently Amended) The display device according to claim 1, wherein a first acoustic back volume of the first speaker is separate from a second acoustic back volume of the second speaker (Huo-fig.2 (12, 31-32); par [93]).
(Currently Amended) The display device according to claim 1 any one of claims 1 to9, further comprising a second speaker module supported by the second surface, the second speaker module including: a third speaker arranged to emit sound energy in the first direction; and a fourth speaker arranged to emit sound energy in the second direction (Huo-fig.2 (11)/various speakers may be incorporated in said module).
11. (Currently Amended) The display device according to claim 1, wherein the first filter or the second filter is a finite impulse response filter (Yo-par [142]).
