Notice of Pre-AIA or AIA Status
The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA .
DETAILED ACTION
This is response to Application 18/898,311 filed on 09/26/2024 in which claims 1-20 are presented for examination.
Allowable Subject Matter
Claims 13-18 allowed.
Claims 2-12 and 20 are objected to as being dependent upon a rejected base claim, but would be allowable if rewritten in independent form including all of the limitations of the base claim and any intervening claims.
Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 102
In the event the determination of the status of the application as subject to AIA 35 U.S.C. 102 and 103 (or as subject to pre-AIA 35 U.S.C. 102 and 103) is incorrect, any correction of the statutory basis (i.e., changing from AIA to pre-AIA ) for the rejection will not be considered a new ground of rejection if the prior art relied upon, and the rationale supporting the rejection, would be the same under either status.
The following is a quotation of the appropriate paragraphs of 35 U.S.C. 102 that form the basis for the rejections under this section made in this Office action:
A person shall be entitled to a patent unless –
(a)(1) the claimed invention was patented, described in a printed publication, or in public use, on sale, or otherwise available to the public before the effective filing date of the claimed invention.
Claims 1 and 19 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 102(a)(1) as being anticipated by Williams et al. (US 2022/0393865 A1).
1. Regarding claim 1, Williams teaches a method of operating a server to route wireless data via a network comprising a satellite constellation (Fig. 12, Paragraph [0224] key handles and key metadata; exchange between ground station and other ground station)., the method comprising:
receiving, via a communications interface with a core network, a first key
generated by a first user equipment (UE) device; receiving, via a communications interface with a carrier network, a message transmitted by a second UE device intended for the first UE device, wherein the message comprises an identifier associated with the second UE device (Paragraphs [0101] and [0102] record secure key data at each user ground station; unique identifier);
generating, using one or more processors, a handle associated with the second UE device based at least on the first key, the identifier, and a cryptographic function;
encrypting, using the one or more processors, the message based at least on a
second key (Fig. 12, Paragraph [0224] key handles generated; support cryptographic services); and
transmitting, via the communications interface with the core network, the
encrypted message and the handle (Paragraph [0224] key handles and key metadata; exchange between ground station and other ground station).
2. Regarding claim 19, Williams teaches a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium (Paragraph [0014] computer-readable medium) storing one or more
programs configured to be executed by one or more processors on a server, the one or more programs comprising instructions for:
receiving, over a communications interface with a core network, a cryptographic
key generated by a first user equipment (UE) device (Fig. 12, Paragraph [0224] key handles generated; support cryptographic services);
receiving, over a communications interface with a carrier network, a
message transmitted by a second UE device intended for the first UE device, wherein the message comprises an identifier associated with the second UE device (Paragraphs [0101] and [0102] record secure key data at each user ground station; unique identifier);
generating, using one or more processors, a handle associated with the
second UE device based at least on the cryptographic key and the identifier; and
transmitting the handle over the communications interface with the core network (Fig. 12, Paragraph [0224] key handles generated; support cryptographic services).
Conclusion
The prior art made of record and not relied upon is considered pertinent to applicant’s disclosure:
Kharidehal et al. (US 2022/0046002 A1)
Lakshminarayanan (US 2013/0046989 A1) digital signature management
