DETAILED ACTION
Notice of Pre-AIA or AIA Status
The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA .
Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 112
The following is a quotation of 35 U.S.C. 112(b):
(b) CONCLUSION.—The specification shall conclude with one or more claims particularly pointing out and distinctly claiming the subject matter which the inventor or a joint inventor regards as the invention.
The following is a quotation of 35 U.S.C. 112 (pre-AIA ), second paragraph:
The specification shall conclude with one or more claims particularly pointing out and distinctly claiming the subject matter which the applicant regards as his invention.
Claims 7-10 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 112(b) or 35 U.S.C. 112 (pre-AIA ), second paragraph, as being indefinite for failing to particularly point out and distinctly claim the subject matter which the inventor or a joint inventor (or for applications subject to pre-AIA 35 U.S.C. 112, the applicant), regards as the invention.
Regarding to claims 7-10, the claims recited for “sending a beacon packet periodically according to a transmission period and alternately entering into a working state and a sleeping state multiple times in every transmission period”, it is unclear as to what circuit is sending the beacon and what circuit is entering the working and sleep states. Thus, the claims fail to particularly point out and distinctly claim the subject matter.
Allowable Subject Matter
Claims 1-6 are allowed.
The following is an examiner’s statement of reasons for allowance: The prior art of record Patel et al (US Publication 2006/0146769 A1) discloses a wireless communication device 200 (fig. 2) comprising: a wireless communication circuit 212 (page 2 paragraph 0015); a system chip 224 electrically connected to the wireless communication circuit (page 2 paragraph 0015), wherein the system chip is configured to successively make the wireless communication circuit and the system chip sleep 304/310 in response to a power saving demand and configured to receive a wake-up signal 314/316 to successively awake the system chip and the wireless communication circuit (fig. 3 pages 2-3 paragraphs 0016 and 0021); a wake-up controller 220 electrically connected to the system chip, wherein the wake-up controller is configured to send the wake-up signal to the system chip (page 2 paragraph 0015). However, the prior art of record fails to teach or make obvious for “a beacon communication circuit electrically connected to the wake-up controller, wherein the beacon communication circuit is configured to send a beacon packet periodically according to a transmission period, and the beacon communication circuit is configured to alternately enter into a working state and a sleeping state multiple times in every transmission period, wherein the beacon communication circuit listens to at least one connection request signal when the beacon communication circuit enters into the working state”, when such beacon communication circuit is considered within the specific structure recited in the device of claim 1.
Any comments considered necessary by applicant must be submitted no later than the payment of the issue fee and, to avoid processing delays, should preferably accompany the issue fee. Such submissions should be clearly labeled “Comments on Statement of Reasons for Allowance.”
