CTNF 18/914,869 CTNF 87469 DETAILED ACTION Notice of Pre-AIA or AIA Status 07-03-aia AIA 15-10-aia The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA. Drawings The drawings are objected to under 37 CFR 1.83(a). The drawings must show every feature of the invention specified in the claims. Therefore, the embodiment directed to claim 10 which includes claim 1 (Note: it appears that claim 10 is directed to Figures 4-6, but the complementary members (300) in Figures 4-6 are not located on a peripheral surface with curvature properties. The surface that each 300 is located on appears to be a flat surface with no curvature. Furthermore, the areas adjacent to the surface that each 300 is located are also flat surfaces with no curvature.) must be shown or the feature(s) canceled from the claim(s). No new matter should be entered. 06-36 AIA The drawings are objected to under 37 CFR 1.83(a). The drawings must show every feature of the invention specified in the claims. Therefore, the embodiment directed to claim 19 (Note: it appears that claim 19 is supported by Paragraph 0073 of the drawings, but Paragraph 0073 discloses “Although not explicitly illustrated in the drawings”. Therefore, it appears that the structure of claim 19 is not shown in the drawings.) must be shown or the feature(s) canceled from the claim(s). No new matter should be entered. Corrected drawing sheets in compliance with 37 CFR 1.121(d) are required in reply to the Office action to avoid abandonment of the application. Any amended replacement drawing sheet should include all of the figures appearing on the immediate prior version of the sheet, even if only one figure is being amended. The figure or figure number of an amended drawing should not be labeled as “amended.” If a drawing figure is to be canceled, the appropriate figure must be removed from the replacement sheet, and where necessary, the remaining figures must be renumbered and appropriate changes made to the brief description of the several views of the drawings for consistency. Additional replacement sheets may be necessary to show the renumbering of the remaining figures. Each drawing sheet submitted after the filing date of an application must be labeled in the top margin as either “Replacement Sheet” or “New Sheet” pursuant to 37 CFR 1.121(d). If the changes are not accepted by the examiner, the applicant will be notified and informed of any required corrective action in the next Office action. The objection to the drawings will not be held in abeyance. Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 112 07-30-02 AIA The following is a quotation of 35 U.S.C. 112(b): (b) CONCLUSION.—The specification shall conclude with one or more claims particularly pointing out and distinctly claiming the subject matter which the inventor or a joint inventor regards as the invention. The following is a quotation of 35 U.S.C. 112 (pre-AIA), second paragraph: The specification shall conclude with one or more claims particularly pointing out and distinctly claiming the subject matter which the applicant regards as his invention. 07-34-01 Claims 1-20 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 112(b) or 35 U.S.C. 112 (pre-AIA), second paragraph, as being indefinite for failing to particularly point out and distinctly claim the subject matter which the inventor or a joint inventor (or for applications subject to pre-AIA 35 U.S.C. 112, the applicant), regards as the invention. Claim 1, line 5, recites “a plurality of complementary members” which is indefinite because it is unclear exactly what structure must be present for a member to be viewed as a complementary member. Can any structural element be a complementary member? How does one element complement another element? The Applicant is advised to amend the claim to disclose what structures are Applicant’s complementary members. Claim 1, line 12, recites “the complementary member” which is indefinite because the Applicant has not previously singled out one of the plurality of complementary members. Which member is the Applicant referring to? Should line 12 be amended to recite --wherein one complementary member of the plurality of complementary members--? Claims 15 and 17 also refer to “the complementary member”. Claim 9, lines 2-4, recites “a magnitude of an angle defined between the second rotation center axis and the rotation axis of the wheel are substantially equal or correspond to each other” which is indefinite because it is unclear what structure must be present for the magnitude of an angle defined between the second rotation center axis and the rotation axis of the wheel to be viewed as corresponding to each other. Is there a specific relationship that must be present? How do to elements “correspond” to each other? The metes and bounds of the limitation cannot be determined. Claim 15, line 2, recites “the roller member” which is indefinite because the Applicant has not previously singled out one of the plurality of roller members. Which roller member is the Applicant referring to? Should line 2 be amended to recite --one roller member of the plurality of roller members--? Claim 17, line 2, recites “the roller member” which is indefinite because the Applicant has not previously singled out one of the plurality of roller members. Which roller member is the Applicant referring to? Should line 2 be amended to recite --one roller member of the plurality of roller members--? Allowable Subject Matter 07-43-01 AIA Claim s 1-20 would be allowable if rewritten or amended to overcome the rejection(s) under 35 U.S.C. 112(b) or 35 U.S.C. 112 (pre-AIA), 2nd paragraph, set forth in this Office action. 13-03-01 AIA The following is a statement of reasons for the indication of allowable subject matter: The prior art does not teach or render obvious the claimed combination of elements recited in claim 1, wherein a wheel is comprised of a rim part rotatable about a rotation axis, a plurality of roller members rotatably coupled to the rim part and arranged to surround the rotation axis, a plurality of complementary members coupled to the rim part and arranged to surround the rotation axis, when the wheel is viewed from a position spaced apart from the wheel in a direction in which the rotation axis extends, a non-uniformity section is formed on a peripheral surface defined by the plurality of roller members and has curvature properties different from curvature properties of another region adjacent to the non-uniformity section in a circumferential direction of the wheel, and one of the complementary members is provided to overlap the non-uniformity section. Jung (US 2025/0346070 A1) discloses a wheel structure with similar structural elements as the current application. Suzuki et al. (US 12,623,486 B2) discloses a mecanum wheel that is comprised of a rim part, a plurality of roller members attached to the rim part, and the rim part having non-uniformity sections that are recessed from a peripheral surface of the rim part. Aulick (US 2022/0388337 A1) discloses a ball wheel that is comprised of a circular object that has a plurality of raised knobs on its outer circumferential surface, and each raised knob is comprised of a circular base, a flat top, angled side walls, and a ball located inside a socket of the raised knob . Conclusion 07-96 AIA The prior art made of record and not relied upon is considered pertinent to applicant's disclosure.
