CTNF 18/931,738 CTNF 84569 DETAILED ACTION Notice of Pre-AIA or AIA Status 07-03-aia AIA 15-10-aia The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA. Remarks 1. Claims 14-15 recite a movement mode setting unit, a sensor input unit, a road information recognition unit, a movement direction determination unit, a communication unit, an input unit, all invoke 112 6th paragraph and are therefore limited to the hardware implementations and equivalents thereof which are disclosed in applicants specification and drawings of Fig.1 and published application [0009]-[0010]; [0040]-[0043]; [0054]-[0060]; [0074]; and [0091] as a processor for executing the functions and algorithms as described in the claim limitations. Claim Objections 07-43 2. Claims 2-13 are objected to as being dependent upon a rejected base claim, but would be allowable if rewritten in independent form including all of the limitations of the base claim and any intervening claims and overcoming any 112b rejections below. Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 112 3. The following is a quotation of 35 U.S.C. 112(b): (B) CONCLUSION. The specification shall conclude with one or more claims particularly pointing out and distinctly claiming the subject matter which the inventor or a joint inventor regards as the invention. 4. Claims 2, 6, and 10-11 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 112(b), second paragraph, as being vague and indefinite for failing to particularly point out and distinctly claim the subject matter which applicant regards as the invention for the reasons stated below. Claim 2 recites “of each lidar sensor” without any antecedent basis for any lidar sensor(s). Appropriate Correction is required. Claim 6 recites “the lidar sensor” without any antecedent basis for any lidar sensor(s). Appropriate Correction is required. Claim 10 recites “both sides” without antecedent basis for any sides. Appropriate Correction is required. Claim 11 recites “one side” without antecedent basis for any side. Appropriate Correction is required. Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 103 07-20-aia AIA 5. The following is a quotation of 35 U.S.C. 103 which forms the basis for all obviousness rejections set forth in this Office action: A patent for a claimed invention may not be obtained, notwithstanding that the claimed invention is not identically disclosed as set forth in section 102 of this title, if the differences between the claimed invention and the prior art are such that the claimed invention as a whole would have been obvious before the effective filing date of the claimed invention to a person having ordinary skill in the art to which the claimed invention pertains. Patentability shall not be negated by the manner in which the invention was made. 07-21-aia AIA 6. Claim s 1 and 14-15 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 103 as being unpatentable over Yang et al., KR 2018/0097962 (translation) in view of Boyraz et al., WO 2021262943 . Regarding claim 1, a method of providing movement guidance based on road structure recognition (See Pages 2-6, guiding based on detected obstacles in the road), the method comprising: setting a movement mode corresponding to orientation indication that is input by a user (See Pages 2-6; user input to select image acquisition mode such that the system analyzed the direction information of the user and the object for navigation). Yang is silent with respect to converting, into a depth image, three-dimensional (3-D) depth sensing data that have been input; recognizing information on a structure and direction of a road in the depth image; and determining a movement direction corresponding to the movement mode based on the recognized information on the structure and direction of the road. However, in the same field of endeavor, Boyraz teaches of converting, into a depth image, three-dimensional (3-D) depth sensing data that have been input (See [0013]-[0034], [0040]-[0047]; [0057]; [0062], [0089] depth images created from the lidar 3d sensing data); recognizing information on a structure and direction of a road in the depth image (See [0013]-[0034], [0040]-[0047]; [0057]; [0062], [0089] detecting/classifying labeling the structures and directions for navigation purposes); and determining a movement direction corresponding to the movement mode based on the recognized information on the structure and direction of the road (See [0013]-[0034], [0040]-[0047]; [0057]; [0062], [0089] navigating and updating to avoid the obstacles to get to its destination). It would have been obvious to one of ordinary skill in the art before the time effective filing date of the claimed invention to have modified the teachings of Yang to have incorporated the teachings of Boyraz for the mere benefit of being able to recognize via sensors and mapping, obstacles such that can be navigated around for visual aid. Regarding claim 14, the claim has been analyzed and rejected for the same reasons set forth in the rejection of claim 1. Regarding claim 15, the claim has been analyzed and rejected for the same reasons set forth in the rejection of claim 1. Contact 7.
