DETAILED ACTION
Notice of Pre-AIA or AIA Status
The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA .
Note:
All the claims including independent and dependent claims are described with passive function such as “receiving” different type of signals. Receive is a passive function which render the claim does not have any weight as any wireless UE with an antenna can receive signal in the air medium. The description of type of signal does not matter. The type of signal matters if only the UE is able to process the signals and produce subsequent functions as the result of the processing. Therefore all the claims can be rejected with a reference describing a UE receiving signals.
Note: another reference as many because of the passive nature of the claims that could be used to reject all the claims but not used as prior art , Ma (US 2022/0217658 A1), teach about UE receiving NTN signals also.
Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 102
The following is a quotation of the appropriate paragraphs of 35 U.S.C. 102 that form the basis for the rejections under this section made in this Office action:
A person shall be entitled to a patent unless the claimed invention was described in a patent issued under section 151, or in an application for patent published or deemed published under section 122(b), in which the patent or application, as the case may be, names another inventor and was effectively filed before the effective filing date of the claimed invention.
Claim(s) 1-20 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 102(a)(2) as being anticipated by
Saha (US 2025/0133536 A1)
Therefore Reference Saha (US 2025/0133536 A1) comprising a wireless UE (See Fig.2(115-x); [0003]) that can receive NTN signal (See [Abstract]; [0044]; To camp on an NTN cell to receive paging messages, the UE may monitor a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) monitoring occasion for DCI based on information in a system information block (SIB) 1 (SIB1) from the NTN cell. In order to receive and decode a SIB1 the UE may receive a synchronization signal block (SSB) from the NTN and decode the physical broadcast channel (PBCH) in the SSB, where the PBCH may include a
master information block (MIB) that indicates a control resource set (CORESET) and search space (SS) for the PDCCH that schedules the SIB 1) will be used to reject all the claims in this application.
